Get Up to $45,000 in Free Developer Tools With Github’s Student Developer Pack

Source: lifehacker.com

GitHub just announced the GitHub Student Developer Pack for 2019, and if you’re a student interested in becoming a developer, it’s well worth a look.

On a basic level, students that sign up for the pack get GitHub Pro at no charge while they’re in school. They also get access to deep discounts from a number of GitHub partners. You’re not likely to take advantage of every deal that’s offered, but if you did it would total $45,000 in savings.

Partners are folks like Microsoft Azure, Stripe, Datadog, and DigitalOcean. The idea is to give students access to the tools they’re likely to encounter in the workplace while they’re still in school. In some cases you’re getting access to the product entirely for free, in others you’re getting things like free account upgrades or Pro accounts.

GitHub added 21 new partners this year, so if you’ve looked at the service in the past there’s probably something (or several somethings) new in it for you. Here’s a rundown from GitHub of all the companies that offer benefits as part of the GitHub Student Developer Pack and what they do.
