Anaxi Extends Platform to Include Bitbucket
Anaxi announced support for Bitbucket, Atlassian’s version control repository used by an estimated 10 million developers. With this addition, product development teams can use the Anaxi app to manage software projects across GitHub, GitHub Enterprise, Bitbucket, Jira Cloud, and Jira Server — all from a single unified interface.
The announcement addresses a common pain point for engineering teams that rely on multiple tools simultaneously: context-switching between issue trackers, code repositories, and project dashboards. Anaxi aims to eliminate that friction by aggregating project data from all of these platforms into one place.
What Anaxi Offers Development Teams
The Anaxi app is designed to give engineering managers and developers a holistic view of project health and team productivity. Key capabilities include:
- Unified project view: Aggregates data from GitHub, Bitbucket, and Jira into a single dashboard, reducing the need to switch between tools.
- High-level and drill-down visibility: Users can view overall project and team status at a glance, then drill down into specific issues, pull requests, or milestones.
- Personalized views: Each user can customize how projects are displayed to match their workflow and priorities.
- Two-way synchronization: Any action taken within the Anaxi app (commenting, closing issues, updating status) is written back directly to GitHub, Bitbucket, or Jira. Team members who do not use Anaxi see no difference in their native tools.
Security and Data Privacy
Anaxi connects directly to users’ own GitHub, Bitbucket, and Jira instances using each service’s standard credentials. According to the company, no data is routed through or stored on Anaxi’s own servers outside of the direct connection — data privacy relies on the authentication mechanisms of the underlying platforms. Users maintain their existing access controls without requiring changes to team-wide permissions.
Why Bitbucket Support Matters
Many engineering organizations that use Jira for issue tracking also use Bitbucket for source control, since both are Atlassian products that integrate natively. Marc Verstaen, co-founder and CEO of Anaxi, commented on the demand from early users:
“With 1 million enterprise teams worldwide who rely on Bitbucket, it’s not a surprise there were many requests from our early users for support. Often we heard it was the one missing link to greater adoption, especially among the loyal Jira and Atlassian users.”

Bitbucket integration is particularly valuable for shops that already use Jira Server — an on-premises deployment that many larger enterprises rely on. Anaxi claims to be one of the few third-party apps supporting Jira Server users (estimated at four million at the time of the announcement) alongside Jira Cloud.
Platform Availability
Anaxi is available across multiple platforms, keeping data synchronized regardless of where users access it:
- Web app
- Desktop: macOS and Windows
- Mobile: iPhone
The app is listed on the Atlassian Marketplace, and free versions are available for macOS, Windows, and iPhone.
About Anaxi
Anaxi was co-founded in December 2017 by Marc Verstaen (formerly Executive Vice President of Product Development at Docker) and John Lafleur (formerly CEO at CodinGame). The company positions its software as a “system of record” for software engineering organizations, focused on helping teams make better resource and scheduling decisions through data-driven insights.
Anaxi’s stated goal is to improve collaboration between product, engineering, and management teams by surfacing project data that is often siloed across separate tools.
