Mowasalat (Karwa) ties up with Falcon Ride for micro-mobility project, with support from UDC
Mowasalat (Karwa) has entered the micro-mobility business with Falcon Ride, launching “safe, sustainable, tech-enabled micro-mobility services” at The Pearl-Qatar by providing transport services on the island through e-scooters.
The new service is a co-operation project with Mowasalat (Karwa), transport services and solutions provider, and the launch is supported by United Development Company (UDC), master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Island, according to a press statement.
The hi-tech, app-enabled e-scooters were “enabled” for the public on Sunday.
“This launch reflects our ability to partner with major corporations and bring micro-mobility solutions to destinations that are committed to the use of high-end technology and to sustainability within communities,” explained Hussain Abdulla, co-founder and managing director, Falcon Ride.
The e-scooter service will now enable visitors and residents of The Pearl-Qatar to obtain even more practical means of transport.
“We have partnered this great sustainable initiative as part of our strategy of connecting people with convenient transport solutions throughout Qatar,” said Khalid Kafoud, Media & Government Relations manager of Mowasalat (Karwa).
He added, “We constantly embrace more future-oriented solutions to make our services easily and safely available for all. In a nutshell – we are confident to soon make Mowasalat (Karwa) part of everyone’s everyday life.”
UDC has demonstrated its willingness to back the Falcon Ride initiative with this e-scooter pilot programme, as part of its continuous efforts to enhance The Pearl-Qatar’s lifestyle experience and to support innovative and sustainable technologies, the statement notes.
The Pearl-Qatar, “with its beautiful surroundings, is an ideal destination to introduce sustainable micro-mobility solutions, which will enable riders to enjoy the island’s stunning views as well as its diverse retail and leisure offerings”.
With this launch, Falcon kicks off its “ambitious goal of changing the face of national public transport in a post-Covid-19 world by providing safe, social distance enabling alternatives”, the statement adds.
“This launch with Mowasalat (Karwa) demonstrates the viability of collaborating with property owners and the public sector to provide electronic micro-mobility transportation. We will look to engage with other corporates to advance our aim to provide last-mile connectivity solutions, which will support Qatar in achieving its FIFA World Cup 2022 and Qatar National Vision 2030 goals,” added Abdulla.
