U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is prepping two solicitations for Development, Security and Operations (DevSecOps) services ā€” with the first laying the foundation for the advanced programs requested in the second.

DevSecOps, theĀ combinationĀ ofĀ DevOpsĀ and information security, is an agile approach to delivering secure software applications quickly. In theĀ first solicitation, the USCIS Office of Information Technology is looking for a vendor to build and enhance systems in the cloud. ClickĀ hereĀ to download the request for information.

TheĀ second solicitationĀ builds on that foundation, seeking ā€œdeep data science, big data, analyticsā€ and ā€œmachine learning servicesā€ along withĀ artificial intelligence. ClickĀ hereĀ to download the request for information.

Responses to both RFIs are due Wednesday, July 26, at noon. Both ask interested vendors for specific details of their past experience performing such requirements.

Both future contracts will require the use of ā€œagile processes, a microservices approach and using a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery Pipeline and Open Source tools,ā€ according to the July 12 notice. The services would also be provided across the enterprise and within the Department of Homeland Security.

USCIS isnā€™t new to DevOps.Ā 360 IT Integrated Solutions RLLPĀ ā€” a joint venture of Qbase LLC, Geocent LLC, and the Newberry Group Inc. won a Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions II (EAGLE II)Ā task orderĀ in August 2016 for a rapid DevOps implementation. The $4.7 million task order ends in September 2017. Also,Ā Infozen Inc. held a four-year, $15 million Alliant Small BusinessĀ task orderĀ for transformation integration and configuration services that ended in June.
