Source:-https://thefintechtimes.com

The Cynergy Bank human and digital model will transform banking for those customers who value a seamless blend of a face-to-face relationship that is enabled by the latest digital technology. This includes market segments such as neglected sections of the market like scaleup SMEs (ambitious small and medium businesses that have the capability and capacity to grow); professionals and mass affluent individuals.

Digital banks have focused their efforts on app-based delivery while large banks continue to adopt a ‘one size fits all approach’ to their small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and client relationships. Cynergy Bank will offer a personal relationship experience but with the infrastructure and software of a fully digital bank.

In addition to digitally-enabled traditional lending and savings products focused on customer needs, the bank will introduce a new suite of digital products. These will be delivered through the Bank’s digital products platform enabling the bank’s customers to access the next generation of banking and tailored support services to help customers grow their businesses.

“We are redefining what it means to be a relationship bank in the digital age, with face-to-face service blended with amazing technology,” said Nick Fahy, CEO of Cynergy Bank. “Our digital relationship bank – the first in the UK – will launch in early 2021, will enable our relationship managers to become growth advisors to their SME clients, with a suite of inputs, which will be delivered digitally. These include data insights into market dynamics and business performance by sectors. Each of the relationship managers will share these insights with customers so that they can review their business performance against the market and generate tangible actions to drive growth and deliver efficiencies.

“Many customers’ needs continue to fall between two stools. The neobanks focus their efforts on app-based delivery and large banks, in their rush to digitise, have failed to recognise that businesses, are looking for human relationship management from their bank as well as the latest digital technologies. In partnership with Google Cloud and Wipro, we will create a digital bank with real people to speak to. We are creating an end-to-end banking and business services technology platform based on Google Cloud and Wipro’s extensive financial services, digital and technology experience. We are really excited about what this new platform will offer our new and existing customers.”

The new model is set to launch in Q1 2021. The Bank will go beyond banking into offering a suite of additional tailored services delivered digitally to customers.

“Wipro is proud to partner with Cynergy Bank and Google Cloud to create this end-to-end digital banking and business services technology offering. With this partnership, we look forward to introducing a new way of banking to customers in the UK, followed by other markets around the world.” said Omkar Nisal, Senior Vice President and Head, Banking EMEA at Wipro Limited.

Why Continuous Delivery Adoption Is Accelerating

Several structural forces are driving CD market expansion beyond the forecast period:

Microservices and containerization — Breaking monolithic applications into independently deployable services creates a natural need for automated, frequent delivery pipelines.

Cloud-native development — Public cloud platforms provide the elastic infrastructure required for scalable CD workflows.

DevSecOps integration — Security testing is being shifted left into CD pipelines, increasing the strategic importance of the toolchain.

Remote-first engineering teams — Distributed teams rely on automated pipelines to coordinate releases without manual handoffs.

Regulatory pressure for auditability — Automated, versioned deployment pipelines provide the audit trails that compliance frameworks demand.

Strategic Takeaways for DevOps Teams

Understanding the competitive landscape and market trajectory is useful for both vendors and practitioners. For engineering and platform teams evaluating CD tooling, the vendor diversity in this market means there is rarely a single correct answer — the right choice depends on your cloud strategy, existing toolchain, team size, compliance requirements, and release cadence targets.

Key questions to guide vendor evaluation:

Does the platform integrate natively with your source control system (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)?

What artifact management and environment promotion models does it support?

How does it handle secrets management, role-based access control, and compliance reporting?

What is the total cost of ownership including licensing, infrastructure, and operator time?

Does the vendor have a credible roadmap for Kubernetes-native and multi-cloud delivery scenarios?

The Continuous Delivery market continues to consolidate — several vendors listed above have since been acquired or merged — making it important to evaluate not just current capabilities but vendor financial stability and community ecosystem health.

Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, Huawei Cloud, Baidu AI Cloud, China Telecom, China Unicom, Kingsoft Cloud, and UCloud – Dominant cloud providers serving Asia-Pacific retail banks, particularly in China where domestic regulations shape cloud procurement.

Infosys, TCS, and Wipro – Systems integrators and managed-service providers that deliver cloud migration, DevOps tooling, and banking-platform modernisation on top of hyperscaler infrastructure.

Oracle, SAP, Salesforce, Workday, and Intuit – SaaS and PaaS vendors supplying core banking, CRM, ERP, and financial-management capabilities as cloud-native or cloud-hosted services.

Medidata, Veeva Systems, and Ellie Mae – Vertical SaaS providers whose platforms intersect with banking and financial-services data management use cases.

BBVA and Bankinter – Notable examples of retail banks that have invested heavily in internal cloud platforms and open-banking APIs, making them both consumers and, in some cases, providers of cloud-based financial technology.

Market Segmentation

By Service Type

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) – Compute, storage, and networking resources consumed on demand; commonly used for disaster-recovery, batch processing, and dev/test environments.

Platform as a Service (PaaS) – Managed runtime environments, databases, messaging queues, and integration layers that reduce operational overhead for development teams.

Software as a Service (SaaS) – Fully managed applications such as core-banking systems, CRM, fraud-detection engines, and regulatory-reporting tools.

By Deployment Model

Public Cloud – Shared infrastructure managed by a hyperscaler; cost-efficient for non-sensitive workloads.

Private Cloud – Dedicated infrastructure operated on-premises or in a co-location facility; preferred for sensitive customer and payment data.

Hybrid Cloud – Combination of public and private environments connected by orchestration tooling; increasingly the dominant model in banking because it allows regulatory data-residency controls alongside cloud-native scalability.

By Application

Core banking system modernisation

Customer relationship management (CRM) and personalisation

Fraud detection and anti-money-laundering (AML) analytics

Regulatory compliance and reporting

Mobile and digital banking platforms

Risk management and stress testing

Data warehousing and business intelligence

Regional Landscape

Cloud adoption patterns in retail banking vary significantly by region, driven by local regulation, infrastructure maturity, and competitive pressure from fintech entrants.

North America (United States, Canada, Mexico)

North America represents one of the most mature markets. Large US banks have invested heavily in multi-cloud strategies, and regulators such as the OCC and FFIEC have issued guidance on cloud risk management rather than outright restrictions. Canada’s OSFI and Mexico’s CNBV each impose their own data-residency and third-party risk requirements.

Europe (Germany, France, UK, Russia, Italy)

GDPR, EBA outsourcing guidelines, and the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) heavily influence cloud procurement decisions. Many European banks favour hybrid or sovereign-cloud arrangements to maintain data control. The UK’s post-Brexit regulatory environment, managed by the PRA and FCA, adds additional complexity for cross-border deployments.

Asia-Pacific (China, Japan, South Korea, India, Southeast Asia)

Asia-Pacific is one of the fastest-growing regions for cloud adoption in banking. China’s domestic cloud providers (Alibaba, Tencent, Huawei, Baidu, China Telecom, China Unicom) dominate the local market due to data-localisation requirements. India’s RBI has issued cloud-adoption frameworks encouraging managed migration. Southeast Asian markets show rapid growth driven by digital-only bank licensing regimes.

South America (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia)

Brazil’s LGPD privacy law and the Central Bank of Brazil’s open-finance initiatives are accelerating cloud investment. Hyperscalers have expanded local infrastructure to meet data-residency requirements.

Middle East and Africa (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa)

Cloud adoption is growing from a lower baseline. The UAE and Saudi Arabia have established clear cloud-first government policies that indirectly influence banking. Nigeria and South Africa represent the leading African markets, with central banks developing cloud-risk guidance.

Key Growth Drivers

Legacy system debt – Decades-old mainframe and on-premises applications are expensive to maintain and difficult to integrate with modern APIs, creating a strong business case for cloud migration.

Fintech competition – Digital-native challengers operate at lower cost bases using cloud-native architectures, pressuring incumbent banks to modernise.

Customer experience demands – Real-time payments, personalised offers, and always-on mobile services require the elastic scalability that cloud platforms provide.

Regulatory reporting volume – Increasing regulatory complexity demands analytics platforms capable of processing large, rapidly changing datasets—a strength of cloud data warehousing.

AI and machine learning adoption – Fraud detection, credit scoring, and customer segmentation models require compute resources that are cost-prohibitive to provision on-premises at scale.

Operational resilience requirements – Regulators increasingly demand active-active disaster-recovery capabilities that public cloud regions and availability zones can deliver more economically than traditional data-centre pairs.

Key Restraints and Challenges

Data sovereignty and residency rules – Regulations in many jurisdictions restrict where customer financial data can be stored or processed, limiting hyperscaler flexibility.

Concentration risk – Regulators worry that widespread dependence on a small number of hyperscalers creates systemic risk for the financial sector.

Security and compliance complexity – Banks must maintain PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and local regulatory certifications across cloud environments, increasing operational overhead.

Skills gaps – Cloud-native development, DevSecOps, and FinOps expertise remain scarce in many banking organisations.

Migration risk – Moving mission-critical core-banking systems carries significant operational risk and requires extensive testing and rollback planning.

Technology and Innovation Trends

API-led open banking – Cloud platforms provide the managed API gateways and event-streaming infrastructure (e.g., Kafka-as-a-service) that open-banking mandates require.

Containerisation and Kubernetes – Banks are increasingly packaging workloads in containers to gain portability across cloud providers and reduce vendor lock-in.

Serverless and event-driven architectures – Reducing idle compute costs for transaction-processing pipelines with variable load profiles.

Confidential computing – Hardware-based trusted execution environments (TEEs) allow sensitive banking data to be processed in the cloud without exposing plaintext to the cloud provider.

Generative AI integration – Banks are piloting large-language models for customer service automation, document processing, and code generation, typically through managed cloud AI services.

Conclusion

Cloud computing is no longer an emerging concept in retail banking—it is an operational reality for institutions of all sizes. The combination of legacy modernisation pressure, fintech competition, and demand for real-time, data-driven services means that cloud adoption will continue to accelerate across all regions. For DevOps and platform engineering teams working in financial services, understanding the regulatory context, vendor landscape, and architectural patterns specific to banking is essential for designing resilient, compliant, and cost-effective cloud environments.

Key Takeaways for DevOps Practitioners and Decision-Makers

The CD tooling market is crowded; differentiation increasingly lies in integrations, security features, and value stream analytics rather than core pipeline execution.

M&A activity is reshaping vendor boundaries—tools you evaluate today may be absorbed into larger platforms by the time you renew a contract.

Open-source options (Jenkins, Argo CD, Tekton, Woodpecker CI) remain viable for teams with the engineering capacity to operate them, and often serve as the engine beneath commercial offerings.

Regulatory requirements should be a first-class consideration in platform selection, particularly for BFSI and healthcare organizations.

Vendor lock-in risk is real; preference for platforms that support standard pipeline-as-code formats (e.g., YAML-based definitions) makes future migration less painful.

Understanding the market structure helps engineering leaders make more informed build-vs-buy decisions and negotiate effectively with vendors operating in this space.

Component

Solution

Software

Hardware

Services

Professional Services

Managed Services

Retail and Consumer Goods

Healthcare

Manufacturing

Telecom and IT

Education

Media and Entertainment

Others

Regional Outlook

The study provides country-level revenue breakdowns to support regional investment and go-to-market decisions. Regions covered include:

North America – United States

Europe – United Kingdom, France

Asia Pacific – China, India, Japan

Middle East and Africa (MEA)

Latin America – Brazil

North America has historically represented a significant portion of CD market revenue, driven by early enterprise adoption of DevOps toolchains and the presence of major platform vendors. Asia Pacific is expected to show strong growth momentum through the forecast period, underpinned by digital transformation initiatives across India, China, and Japan.

Key Questions the Research Addresses

Practitioners and technology decision-makers using this type of market research typically seek answers to the following questions:

What is the current state of the Continuous Delivery market and how will it develop through 2026?

What are the primary drivers of market growth, and what challenges constrain adoption?

What technology bottlenecks affect the development of CD tooling and processes?

What is the total addressable market size, and which segments offer the greatest opportunity?

How are pricing models evolving across different CD product types and applications?

Who are the leading vendors, and how do their products and services differentiate?

What strategic moves — mergers, acquisitions, partnerships — are reshaping competitive dynamics?

Why This Market Context Matters for DevOps Teams

Understanding the competitive and commercial landscape of the CD market helps engineering leaders make more informed toolchain decisions. Vendor financial stability, acquisition activity, and product roadmap investment are all influenced by market dynamics. A vendor that is growing rapidly or has recently attracted significant investment may be more likely to sustain and expand its platform; one that is losing market share may deprioritise certain integrations or features.

Segmentation by pipeline stage is particularly useful for practitioners: it maps commercial tooling categories directly onto the engineering workflow, making it easier to identify where in the delivery pipeline your organisation is over- or under-invested compared to industry norms.

Similarly, the cloud versus on-premises split reflects an ongoing architectural decision many organisations face as they weigh the operational simplicity of SaaS CD platforms against the compliance and control requirements that drive on-premises deployments — especially in BFSI and healthcare verticals.

Conclusion

The Continuous Delivery market spans a broad ecosystem of tooling vendors, systems integrators, and managed service providers. For DevOps practitioners, aligning toolchain choices with the market’s direction — including understanding which vendors are investing in innovation, which verticals are accelerating adoption, and how deployment models are shifting — provides a strategic foundation beyond purely technical evaluation criteria.
