Kovair Software has released a new Kubernetes plug-in for its DevOps solution, adding container orchestration support, hybrid multi-cloud enablement, and end-to-end CI/CD pipeline automation to its existing Omnibus integration platform.

Originally reported by AIThority.com. This article summarises Kovair Software’s announcement of its Kubernetes plug-in release for the Kovair DevOps platform.

Kovair Adds Kubernetes Support to Its DevOps Platform

Kovair Software, a vendor in the software tools integration and Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) space, has announced the release of a new Kubernetes plug-in for the Kovair DevOps Solution. The plug-in extends the platform’s existing hybrid multi-cloud capabilities — delivered in conjunction with Kovair’s integration middleware, Omnibus — and is aimed at enterprise teams looking to automate container-based deployments across on-premise and cloud environments.

The stated goal of the release is to allow development, QA, and operations teams to deploy to Kubernetes clusters without requiring deep knowledge of the underlying integration mechanics. According to Bipin Shah, Chairman and CEO of Kovair Software:

“This release of the Kubernetes plug-in will enable Development, QA and Operations personnel to deploy to their preferred container infrastructure or cluster manager solution in Kubernetes without requiring any knowledge about the underlying integrations. The combined offering of Kovair DevOps and Omnibus will allow teams to coordinate and manage a mix of monolithic application and modern microservices-based application releases across legacy or continuous delivery pipelines, into both on-premise and cloud environments.”
Bipin Shah, Chairman and CEO, Kovair Software

What the Kubernetes Plug-In Brings to Kovair DevOps

Kovair DevOps is built around concurrent, task-based pipelines designed for continuous delivery. The platform provides build and deployment automation alongside real-time analytics, and is intended to support heterogeneous environments — including on-premise infrastructure, edge cloud, and hyperscale public clouds. The new Kubernetes plug-in adds native container orchestration to this pipeline model.

Key Capabilities

Drag-and-drop pipeline editor: Creation, orchestration, and management of complex Kubernetes deployment pipelines through a visual, configurable workflow editor supporting concurrent task execution.

Email-based pipeline management: Users can start, stop, or query the live status of a pipeline directly from email — a feature positioned for distributed or remote teams.

Automated and manual task execution: Pipelines support both automated steps and on-demand manual intervention, integrated with full Project Lifecycle Management.

Custom command execution: Manages dependencies between custom applications, system commands, and microservices across the complete continuous delivery pipeline.

Distributed task execution: Tasks can run on any host, removing the requirement to centralise all tooling on a single server and enabling hybrid multi-cloud deployments.

Real-time visibility: Pre-defined reports and dashboards provide in-depth visibility into release pipeline progress across all environments and teams.

Multi-environment deployment: Supports deployment targets including public cloud, VMs, containers, and traditional bare-metal environments across any operating system.

Plug-In Ecosystem at Launch

The initial set of plug-ins shipped with this release covers both open-source and commercial tooling commonly found in enterprise DevOps toolchains:

Project and issue tracking: Jira, TFS, ServiceNow

Build tools: ANT, Maven, MS Build

CI/CD: Jenkins

Source control: GitHub

Container and orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes

Artifact management: JFrog

Code quality: SonarQube

Testing: Selenium

Monitoring: Dynatrace

Cloud: Azure Cloud

Configuration management: Ansible

Collaboration: Slack

Architecture patterns: Microservices, Custom Command

Amit Dasgupta, Director of Products and Solutions Management at Kovair Software, commented on the broader strategic intent:

“Kovair DevOps with Kubernetes support will provide a form of rapid software delivery centered around the concept of continuous delivery pipelines achieved through automation of different activities involved in the delivery cycle. With this launch, Kovair will now start offering a full Enterprise DevOps workflow to its prospects and customers.”
Amit Dasgupta, Director of Products and Solutions Management, Kovair Software

Kovair Omnibus: The Integration Layer

Underpinning the Kovair DevOps platform is Omnibus, Kovair’s proprietary Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based integration middleware. Omnibus provides built-in security, resiliency, and multi-cloud enablement, and is designed to integrate with over 110 ALM and IT tools from a range of vendors and open-source projects. The platform supports one-click deployments and is positioned as an alternative to traditional Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) vendors that require specialist integration developers.

Kovair states that Omnibus received a Gartner Cool Vendor award, though no date or report title for this award is provided in the announcement.

Akshay Sharma, CTO of Kovair Software and a former senior analyst at Gartner Research, framed the enterprise opportunity as follows:

“CIOs and Software Architects of Enterprises embarking on Digital Transformation projects should explore Kovair’s DevOps and Omnibus, along with their DevSecOps-based solutions as they re-vector to newer hybrid multi-cloud datacenters offering newer services — with security vulnerability assessments built-in.”
Akshay Sharma, CTO, Kovair Software

Summary

The Kubernetes plug-in release positions Kovair DevOps as a more complete enterprise continuous delivery platform, offering native Kubernetes pipeline support alongside its existing multi-tool integration capabilities. For organisations managing a mix of legacy applications and modern container-based microservices across hybrid cloud environments, the combination of Kovair DevOps and Omnibus is intended to reduce integration friction and accelerate delivery cycles without requiring deep expertise at each integration point.

Guardicore, HubSpot, Zscaler, Domo, SAP, Slack, CloudBolt Software, OpsRamp, Fortinet, Zoho, Skykick, and New Relic are the most likely to be recommended by their employees to friends looking for a cloud computing company to work for in 2020.
Cloud software companies dominate the highest-rated cloud businesses when indexed by the percent of employees who would recommend their company to a friend.
Taken together, the 12 CEOs leading the top-rated cloud computing companies are approved by 96% of employees as of February 20, 2020, on Glassdoor. CEOs in this group include Brian Halligan of HubSpot, Josh James of Domo, Jay Chaudhry of Zscaler, Stewart Butterfield of Slack, Sridhar Vembu of Zoho and Jennifer Morgan and Christian Klein of SAP.
These and many other insights are from an analysis completed today comparing Computer Reseller News’ 100 Coolest Cloud Computing Vendors of 2020 by their respective Glassdoor scores. The Computer Reseller News annual list of the 100 coolest cloud computing vendors is an impartial, 3rd party benchmark of the fastest-growing and most likely to hire cloud businesses expanding today. By far, the most common request from Forbes readers is which cloud computing companies are the best to work for. The goal of this analysis is to provide readers with insights into which cloud computing companies best fit their skills and at the same time, have a strong reputation based on feedback from existing employees.

Indexing the most interesting and fastest-growing cloud computing companies by their Glassdoor scores and reputations is a great way to begin defining a long-term career growth strategy. One factor not quantified is how well of a fit an applicant is to company culture. Take every opportunity for in-person interviews, read Glassdoor ratings often and observe as much as possible about daily life in companies of interest to see if they are a good fit for your skills and strengths.

Using the 2020 CRN list as a baseline to compare the Glassdoor scores of the (%) of employees who would recommend this company to a friend and (%) of employees who approve of the CEO, the table below is provided. You can find the original dataset here. There are 16 companies on the CRN list that don’t have that many or any entries on Glassdoor, and they are excluded from the rankings shown below. You can find their mention in the original dataset. If the image below is not visible in your browser, you can view the rankings here.
