Source:-https://www.expresscomputer.in/ Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon.com company and Salesforce, has announced a significant expansion of their global strategic partnership […]

Source:-https://www.expresscomputer.in/

Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon.com company and Salesforce, has announced a significant expansion of their global strategic partnership that will make it easy for customers to use the full set of Salesforce and AWS capabilities together to quickly build and deploy powerful new business applications that accelerate digital transformation.

The partnership will drive customer value through new and enhanced unification between AWS and Salesforce products. Developers will now be able to build and launch custom applications that extend the power of both platforms by connecting Salesforce data and workflows natively into their solutions running on AWS and make it easy for Salesforce developers to integrate AWS data and workflows into their Salesforce applications.

Salesforce will also embed AWS services for voice, video, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) directly in new applications for sales, service, and industry vertical use cases. With these new offerings, customers can purchase out-of-the-box solutions directly from Salesforce and then consume the integrated AWS services on a pay-as-you-go basis.

“For more than five years, our customers have benefitted from a tight relationship between AWS and Salesforce. Now, we are taking the partnership to the next level by integrating our offerings so developers using both AWS and Salesforce can build unified applications much faster and simpler than ever before,” said Andy Jassy, CEO, Amazon Web Services.

“With this partnership, we are significantly simplifying developers’ lives and empowering them to develop applications however they want, from wherever they want globally, at any scale,” added Jassy.

“This is a milestone partnership for the technology industry, and one that will enable our customers to experience an even more powerful Salesforce Customer 360 and achieve a new level of success in their business. With a more strongly unified Salesforce and AWS platform, our customers around the world can create a single source of truth across sales, service, marketing, and commerce, and achieve success from anywhere,” said Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO, Salesforce.

Source:-https://devops.com/ A survey of 521 attendees at a recent online Future of Salesforce DevOps Summit event hosted by Gearset, a […]

Source:-https://devops.com/

A survey of 521 attendees at a recent online Future of Salesforce DevOps Summit event hosted by Gearset, a provider of a continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) platform for Salesforce developers, found just under half (47%) of respondents now release software at least multiple times a week, with another 29% releasing software weekly or biweekly.

More than half of respondents (52%) also noted they now can deploy software in less than an hour.

Gearset CEO Kevin Boyle said the survey suggested the level of DevOps maturity among developers building applications on top of the Salesforce software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform is increasing rapidly. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many organizations embraced SaaS platforms to accelerate their digital business transformation initiatives rather than building entire applications from scratch.

However, the biggest benefit cited by survey respondents was not the ability to release applications faster, but rather the improvements to application quality (77%), followed by increased productivity (69%) and enhanced collaboration (46%). Other benefits cited included reduced complexity thanks to automation; increased agility; more reliable releases and time and cost savings.

Overall, the survey identifies source code control, CI/CD, unit testing, change monitoring and backups of metadata and data as being the most widely implemented DevOps capabilities that have been adopted. Over the next 12 months, capabilities that will see the most increased adoption among survey respondents include CI/CD, static code analysis and sandbox seeding with data.

Survey respondents said their top obstacles to adoption of DevOps are ramp-up time, followed by difficulties adopting source control and a perceived steep learning curve. For many organizations that have adopted Salesforce, the intimidation factor when it comes to adopting DevOps best practices is still fairly high, Boyle noted.

Most recently, Gearset added a free training platform, dubbed DevOps Launchpad, that employs gamification techniques to make DevOps more accessible to developers. Topics covered include version control fundamentals, Git branching strategies and Salesforce backups.

Gearset counts McKesson, Zillow, Traction on Demand, Intercom, Accenture, IBM and Johnson & Johnson among its customers. It’s not clear to what degree appreciation for DevOps has risen among smaller companies. However, as the number of custom applications deployed as extensions to the Salesforce platform increases, it is apparent that manual processes for building and deploying applications will not scale. The Salesforce platform itself is uniquely constructed using a set of objects and tables that generally lead organizations to adopt a DevOps platform built for that environment. However, it is possible to build and deploy applications using a DevOps platform designed for building and deploying applications that might need to span multiple platforms. Those applications would be integrated with the Salesforce platform at an application programming interface (API) level.

Regardless of how custom applications are built and deployed, it’s clear Salesforce platforms are becoming more widely used in enterprise IT environments. Each DevOps team will need to determine how best to integrate those platforms within the context of their overall DevOps strategy.

Source:-https://cloudwars.co Despite having a combined market cap of about $5.5 trillion and being the core of the greatest growth market […]

Source:-https://cloudwars.co

Despite having a combined market cap of about $5.5 trillion and being the core of the greatest growth market the tech industry has ever known, the Cloud Wars Top 10 vendors each face significant challenges in 2021.

Whether those challenges are from other Cloud Wars Top 10 competitors, from feisty upstarts like Snowflake, or driven by the need to evolve and transform at breathtaking speed while continuing to support tens of thousands of business customers across the globe, they will make for some fascinating outcomes in 2021.

In our recent Cloud Wars Top 10 Special Report: Which Cloud Vendors Will Thrive in 2021?, we devoted considerable attention to the range of threats looming for the Cloud Wars Top 10: #1 Microsoft, #2 Amazon, #3 Salesforce, #4 Google Cloud, #5 SAP, #6 Oracle, #7 IBM, #8 Workday, #9 ServiceNow, and #10 Adobe.

Here’s a quick overview of each with links to the detailed analyses in our Special Report.

#1 Microsoft
Three big challenges: Azure reliability, balancing enormous aspirations for SaaS and IaaS, and keeping Satya Nadella—perhaps the world’s top CEO—happy and motivated and challenged. Check out our in-depth exploration of those 3 challenges.

#2 Amazon
Three biggest challenges for Andy Jassy and Jeff Bezos: competing with customers, reliability, and multi-cloud management. Get the full story on the major challenges facing AWS.

#3 Salesforce
The biggest challenges facing Benioff & Co.: will Marc Benioff move from platforms to politics? Can Salesforce continue to stay 2 steps ahead of SAP and Oracle? Get the full story on the biggest obstacles for Salesforce on its road to $50 billion.

#4 Google Cloud
Hey, even the hottest major cloud vendor in the world is not free from challenges. And while Google has a market cap of about $1.2 trillion, both Microsoft and Amazon can not only match but exceed that financial muscle. Will parent Alphabet continue to invest at the astonishing rates needed to compete with its larger rivals? Here’s our view.

#5 SAP
For 40 years, SAP has helped huge global corporations run complex operations, and now SAP is itself in the final phases of overhauling how it runs itself. Can it do in the cloud what it was able to do in traditional computing? We vote yes.

#6 Oracle
Larry Ellison has chosen to compete head-on with companies whose market caps are anywhere from about 8X as large as his (Microsoft and Amazon) to about 6X as large (Google). Can Ellison defy the laws of physics? Hey—he’s done it before.

#7 IBM
Red Hat is a big part of the cloud solution for IBM but, if overplayed, Red Hat also becomes the problem. IBM seems to want to say that it’s cloud future is all about Red Hat, but that’s not enough—the whole company has to go all-in on the cloud! Here’s our take on what IBM needs to do to become a big-time player in the cloud.

#8 Workday
Workday has been hugely successful with its focus on HCM and Financials—but as the world moves rapidly to all digital business all the time, will that be enough to keep up with the full end-to-end offerings of competitors SAP and Oracle?

#9 ServiceNow
Bizarre but true: ServiceNow has been wildly successful in part because it’s doing things no other major cloud vendor has chosen to do or, at least so far, is able to do. That won’t last—will the competition come from Google Cloud?

#10 Adobe
In the wickedly competitive CX segment of the market, Adobe has a great consumer brand but only spotty enterprise credibility. And ongoing problems with part of its Experience Cloud has dragged growth rates into single digits—and in the Cloud Wars, that’s a losing position.

Final Thoughts
In calmer times, each of these 10 world-class companies could no doubt assess these challenges, map out a solid plan to overcome them, and begin to execute and adapt. But these times are anything but calm, and the relentless pace of change, innovation and disruption are requiring companies to blast through challenges at the same time they are driving unprecedented levels of innovation.

We’ll be watching closely in 2021 to see which of the Cloud Wars Top 10 are up to the challenge.

Source:-https://financefeeds.com

Anthony Ginsberg, Co-Creator of HAN-GINs Cloud Technology UCITS ETF (SKYY), which is a cloud computing ETF, expects growth in the sector to accelerate and predicts more M&A corporate activity in the cloud space, particularly amongst cloud security firms.

On this point, Mr Ginsberg said: “Due to COVID-19, cloud technology is increasingly embedded into mainstream work-life activities – from digital entertainment/streaming services to video conferencing, social media and remote learning. We expect global cloud spending to hit a new all-time high for the 3rd quarter – as cloud spending globally continues to gain momentum”

“As Work From Home (WFH) behaviours become ingrained amongst tech savvy workers – pre Pandemic work rules are unlikely to revert. Cloud now drives the Internet of Things, from Social Media and Digital Entertainment to Healthcare Innovation (trackers and telemedicine), Future Cars, Cyber Security and AI-Robotics. Many of the larger Cloud players are vertically integrated – offering a variety of cloud services form software to infrastructure and security too” said Mr Ginsberg.

While the US is the most built-out across Cloud, Europe and developing nations are where much of the future growth is expected. Larger cloud players currently have a distinct advantage over smaller Cloud players given their existing global reach. Many cloud themed ETFs focus on US companies but SKYY has global holdings.

“Given the flexibility cloud subscription services affords users and the significant cost savings – versus maintaining onsite hardware – IT budgets are increasingly shifting away from hardware to Cloud. We also expect global cloud spending to hit a new all-time high for the 3rd quarter – as cloud spending globally continues to gain momentum.”

“The large Cloud Infrastructure players will be unable to make huge ground-breaking deals due to the US Election and anti-trust concerns. We expect smaller add-on acquisitions by the Megacap players whose record share prices provide them with a relatively low-cost, cheap currency” said Mr Ginsberg.

The HAN-GINS Cloud Technology UCITS ETF, is a UCITS compliant Cloud computing ETF domiciled in Ireland. It tracks the Solactive Cloud Technology Index, which was specifically developed for this cloud computing ETF.

The index seeks to provide exposure to companies active in the field of Cloud computing, such as service providers or producers of equipment or software focused on Cloud computing. The HAN-GINs Cloud Technology UCITS ETF (SKYY) delivered a return of 21.49% over the past 12 months 1 . Past performance is no guarantee of future performance.

Below are five key stocks held by SKYY, which Mr Ginsberg and his team have identified as particularly interesting for investors now, and why they think this. The opinions in this email and reports are of the authors and must not be relied upon as investment advice.

AWS now dominates the global Cloud infrastructure market with an approximate 30% market share. It is the primary Cloud host for most global enterprises – with a huge lead over the likes of Microsoft’s Cloud service Azure and Google Cloud. AWS’ revenues rose 31% year-over-year to $21 billion, or 13% of Amazon’s total revenue, in the first half of 2020. More importantly AWS’s profits now represent close to 65% of Amazon’s total operating profit. Its profits are now significantly subsidizing Amazon’s Prime and other lower-margin e-commerce businesses.

It now owns and operates the world’s largest cloud-based CRM (customer relationship management) software platform. It primarily services private and public enterprises. It controls almost 20% of the market, compared to its European rival SAP which holds a small 5.3% share.Salesforce also now offers various cloud-based e-commerce, marketing, and analytics services. Currently these services help over 150,000 companies to streamline and automate certain tasks, reducing overall dependence on human employees.

Its revenues significantly beat expectations recently – rising 30% year-over-year to $10 billion in the first half of 2020. It showed just how strongly it has benefited from the lockdown and is seen as one of the largest beneficiaries of the new ‘Working From Home’ phenomenon and change in office behavior. It is benefiting from the acceleration of cloud-based CRM, marketing, and e-commerce solutions.

Over the past few years using a subscription model online, Adobe has transformed its desktop-based design software into a highly successful subscription-based cloud service. It has subsequently expanded its offering with analytics, advertising, and e-commerce services.

An overview of the global IoT Management System market, covering leading platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud IoT, and PTC ThingWorx, along with key deployment models, market segments, and enterprise use cases.

This article is an independent editorial overview of the IoT Management System market landscape based on publicly available information about the platforms and segments referenced in the original market summary. Specific revenue figures, growth-rate projections, and CAGR claims cited in the original source report have not been independently verified and are not reproduced here.

What Is an IoT Management System?

An IoT Management System (IoT MS) is a software platform that enables organisations to provision, monitor, configure, and secure connected devices at scale. As IoT deployments grow from dozens of sensors to millions of endpoints, a dedicated management layer becomes critical for maintaining device health, enforcing security policies, processing telemetry data, and integrating device events with downstream business systems.

IoT management platforms typically provide some combination of the following capabilities:

Device provisioning and registration — onboarding new hardware securely with identity certificates or tokens.

Remote monitoring and diagnostics — real-time visibility into device status, connectivity, and firmware versions.

Over-the-air (OTA) updates — pushing firmware or configuration changes without physical access.

Data ingestion and routing — receiving high-throughput telemetry and routing it to storage, analytics, or alerting services.

Security and access control — enforcing mutual TLS, role-based access, and anomaly detection.

Integration with enterprise systems — connecting device data to CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms.

Major IoT Management Platform Vendors

The market includes hyperscale cloud providers, specialist IoT platform vendors, and enterprise software companies. The following vendors are commonly cited in this space:

Hyperscale Cloud Providers

Market Segmentation

By Deployment Model

Cloud IoT Management — The dominant deployment model. Devices connect to a cloud-hosted management plane, benefiting from elastic scaling, managed infrastructure, and pay-per-use pricing. Suited for geographically distributed deployments where centralised visibility is a priority.

Local (On-Premises) IoT Management — Management logic runs on-site or at the network edge. Preferred in environments with strict data sovereignty requirements, limited WAN connectivity, or latency-sensitive control loops — such as manufacturing shopfloors, utilities, and defence applications.

By End User

Large Enterprises — Typically require integration with existing IT systems (ERP, CRM, SIEM), advanced security controls, SLA-backed support, and the ability to manage device fleets in the millions. Vendors such as Azure, AWS, SAP, and PTC ThingWorx are strong in this segment.

SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) — Prioritise ease of onboarding, low upfront cost, and self-service tooling. Platforms such as Particle, ThingSpeak, and Carriots have historically served this segment well with tiered or consumption-based pricing.

Key Technology and Market Trends

Edge computing integration — Processing data closer to the device reduces latency and bandwidth costs. Platforms are increasingly offering edge runtimes (e.g., AWS Greengrass, Azure IoT Edge) that run management agents and analytics locally.

Digital twins — Virtual representations of physical assets enable predictive maintenance, simulation, and remote diagnostics without physical intervention.

Zero-trust security — As IoT attack surfaces expand, platforms are adopting per-device identity, certificate-based authentication, and continuous authorisation rather than perimeter-based models.

LPWAN and 5G connectivity — Low-power wide-area networks (LoRaWAN, NB-IoT) and 5G are expanding the connectivity options for battery-constrained and high-bandwidth devices respectively, influencing platform connectivity architecture.

AI/ML at the edge — Embedded inference models enable anomaly detection and predictive analytics directly on devices or gateways, reducing round-trips to the cloud.

Evaluating an IoT Management Platform: Key Criteria

When selecting an IoT management system, engineering and architecture teams should evaluate the following dimensions:

Scale and throughput — What is the maximum device count and messages-per-second the platform supports under your expected workload?

Protocol support — Does the platform support MQTT, AMQP, HTTPS, CoAP, or the protocols your devices already use?

Security model — How are device identities provisioned and rotated? Is mutual TLS or X.509 certificate authentication supported?

Integration ecosystem — How well does the platform connect to your existing data warehouse, ticketing, or ERP systems?

Edge capability — Can management and processing logic run locally when cloud connectivity is unavailable?

Vendor lock-in risk — Are data formats and APIs based on open standards, or proprietary to the vendor?

Total cost of ownership — Factor in ingestion, storage, compute, and support costs, not just per-device licensing fees.

Summary

The IoT management system market encompasses a wide range of vendors — from hyperscale cloud providers offering deep integration with their broader data platforms, to specialist vendors focused on specific verticals or device types. For DevOps and platform engineering teams, the platform choice should be driven by deployment model requirements (cloud vs. edge), integration needs, security posture, and long-term scalability rather than analyst projections alone. With the continued growth of connected device fleets across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and smart infrastructure, robust IoT management tooling is increasingly a core part of the enterprise technology stack.

BBVA and Bankinter – Notable examples of retail banks that have invested heavily in internal cloud platforms and open-banking APIs, making them both consumers and, in some cases, providers of cloud-based financial technology.

Market Segmentation

By Service Type

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) – Compute, storage, and networking resources consumed on demand; commonly used for disaster-recovery, batch processing, and dev/test environments.

Platform as a Service (PaaS) – Managed runtime environments, databases, messaging queues, and integration layers that reduce operational overhead for development teams.

Software as a Service (SaaS) – Fully managed applications such as core-banking systems, CRM, fraud-detection engines, and regulatory-reporting tools.

By Deployment Model

Public Cloud – Shared infrastructure managed by a hyperscaler; cost-efficient for non-sensitive workloads.

Private Cloud – Dedicated infrastructure operated on-premises or in a co-location facility; preferred for sensitive customer and payment data.

Hybrid Cloud – Combination of public and private environments connected by orchestration tooling; increasingly the dominant model in banking because it allows regulatory data-residency controls alongside cloud-native scalability.

By Application

Core banking system modernisation

Customer relationship management (CRM) and personalisation

Fraud detection and anti-money-laundering (AML) analytics

Regulatory compliance and reporting

Mobile and digital banking platforms

Risk management and stress testing

Data warehousing and business intelligence

Regional Landscape

Cloud adoption patterns in retail banking vary significantly by region, driven by local regulation, infrastructure maturity, and competitive pressure from fintech entrants.

North America (United States, Canada, Mexico)

North America represents one of the most mature markets. Large US banks have invested heavily in multi-cloud strategies, and regulators such as the OCC and FFIEC have issued guidance on cloud risk management rather than outright restrictions. Canada’s OSFI and Mexico’s CNBV each impose their own data-residency and third-party risk requirements.

Europe (Germany, France, UK, Russia, Italy)

GDPR, EBA outsourcing guidelines, and the EU Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) heavily influence cloud procurement decisions. Many European banks favour hybrid or sovereign-cloud arrangements to maintain data control. The UK’s post-Brexit regulatory environment, managed by the PRA and FCA, adds additional complexity for cross-border deployments.

Asia-Pacific (China, Japan, South Korea, India, Southeast Asia)

Asia-Pacific is one of the fastest-growing regions for cloud adoption in banking. China’s domestic cloud providers (Alibaba, Tencent, Huawei, Baidu, China Telecom, China Unicom) dominate the local market due to data-localisation requirements. India’s RBI has issued cloud-adoption frameworks encouraging managed migration. Southeast Asian markets show rapid growth driven by digital-only bank licensing regimes.

South America (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia)

Brazil’s LGPD privacy law and the Central Bank of Brazil’s open-finance initiatives are accelerating cloud investment. Hyperscalers have expanded local infrastructure to meet data-residency requirements.

Middle East and Africa (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Nigeria, South Africa)

Cloud adoption is growing from a lower baseline. The UAE and Saudi Arabia have established clear cloud-first government policies that indirectly influence banking. Nigeria and South Africa represent the leading African markets, with central banks developing cloud-risk guidance.

Key Growth Drivers

Legacy system debt – Decades-old mainframe and on-premises applications are expensive to maintain and difficult to integrate with modern APIs, creating a strong business case for cloud migration.

Fintech competition – Digital-native challengers operate at lower cost bases using cloud-native architectures, pressuring incumbent banks to modernise.

Customer experience demands – Real-time payments, personalised offers, and always-on mobile services require the elastic scalability that cloud platforms provide.

Regulatory reporting volume – Increasing regulatory complexity demands analytics platforms capable of processing large, rapidly changing datasets—a strength of cloud data warehousing.

AI and machine learning adoption – Fraud detection, credit scoring, and customer segmentation models require compute resources that are cost-prohibitive to provision on-premises at scale.

Operational resilience requirements – Regulators increasingly demand active-active disaster-recovery capabilities that public cloud regions and availability zones can deliver more economically than traditional data-centre pairs.

Key Restraints and Challenges

Data sovereignty and residency rules – Regulations in many jurisdictions restrict where customer financial data can be stored or processed, limiting hyperscaler flexibility.

Concentration risk – Regulators worry that widespread dependence on a small number of hyperscalers creates systemic risk for the financial sector.

Security and compliance complexity – Banks must maintain PCI-DSS, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and local regulatory certifications across cloud environments, increasing operational overhead.

Skills gaps – Cloud-native development, DevSecOps, and FinOps expertise remain scarce in many banking organisations.

Migration risk – Moving mission-critical core-banking systems carries significant operational risk and requires extensive testing and rollback planning.

Technology and Innovation Trends

API-led open banking – Cloud platforms provide the managed API gateways and event-streaming infrastructure (e.g., Kafka-as-a-service) that open-banking mandates require.

Containerisation and Kubernetes – Banks are increasingly packaging workloads in containers to gain portability across cloud providers and reduce vendor lock-in.

Serverless and event-driven architectures – Reducing idle compute costs for transaction-processing pipelines with variable load profiles.

Confidential computing – Hardware-based trusted execution environments (TEEs) allow sensitive banking data to be processed in the cloud without exposing plaintext to the cloud provider.

Generative AI integration – Banks are piloting large-language models for customer service automation, document processing, and code generation, typically through managed cloud AI services.

Conclusion

Cloud computing is no longer an emerging concept in retail banking—it is an operational reality for institutions of all sizes. The combination of legacy modernisation pressure, fintech competition, and demand for real-time, data-driven services means that cloud adoption will continue to accelerate across all regions. For DevOps and platform engineering teams working in financial services, understanding the regulatory context, vendor landscape, and architectural patterns specific to banking is essential for designing resilient, compliant, and cost-effective cloud environments.

The global FundTech market continues to grow, driven by cloud-native platforms from vendors like Salesforce, Okta, DocuSign, Splunk, and Twilio. Here's what the market landscape looks like and why it matters for DevOps and platform engineering teams.

Note: This article is based on a third-party market research summary originally published by QYReports via galusaustralis.com (December 2019). Specific figures, forecasts, and CAGR projections from the original report have not been independently verified. Readers should consult primary sources before making business decisions.

What Is the FundTech Market?

“FundTech” broadly refers to technology platforms and software solutions that support financial fund management, investment operations, and capital markets workflows. The sector sits at the intersection of financial services and enterprise software, and it increasingly relies on cloud-native infrastructure, API-driven integrations, and identity and security tooling — areas where many DevOps and platform engineering teams play a direct role.

As of the original report’s publication date (late 2019), the global FundTech market was described as experiencing consistent year-over-year expansion, with growth projected to continue through 2026. The drivers cited include broader digital transformation in financial services, increased regulatory complexity requiring automation, and the rising adoption of SaaS platforms across investment firms of all sizes.

Key Vendors Shaping the FundTech Ecosystem

The report highlights a group of enterprise technology vendors whose platforms are widely adopted within FundTech workflows. Understanding what each vendor contributes helps DevOps teams evaluate integration requirements, security posture, and operational complexity:

Adobe: Document workflows, e-signatures (via Adobe Sign), and digital experience management used in client onboarding and compliance documentation.

Amazon (AWS): Cloud infrastructure underpinning a large proportion of FundTech SaaS platforms — compute, storage, managed databases, and financial-grade security controls.

Box: Secure cloud content management for regulated documents, audit trails, and collaboration across fund administrators and legal teams.

Chegg: Primarily an education platform; its inclusion in this market report is unclear and may reflect a data categorization issue in the original source.

DocuSign: Electronic signature and contract lifecycle management, widely used for subscription agreements, fund documents, and regulatory filings.

Forge: A private securities marketplace enabling secondary trading of private company shares — a core FundTech use case for alternative investment platforms.

Okta: Identity and access management (IAM), providing SSO, MFA, and lifecycle management critical for securing FundTech portals and APIs.

Oracle NetSuite: Cloud ERP for fund accounting, financial consolidation, and reporting across fund structures.

Salesforce: CRM and workflow automation used by investor relations teams, fund distributors, and capital-raising operations.

Splunk: Log aggregation, security monitoring (SIEM), and operational intelligence — increasingly required for financial services compliance and incident response.

Twilio: Programmable communications (SMS, voice, email) used for investor notifications, two-factor authentication, and automated alerts.

Regional Market Dynamics

According to the report summary, the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region represents one of the most active growth areas for FundTech adoption. Population growth, rising middle-class investment activity, and increased financial literacy are cited as contributing factors.

In Latin America, Brazil and Mexico are identified as leading markets, supported by government initiatives promoting modernized financial services infrastructure. The report suggests that as R&D investment in the region increases, adoption rates and market size will accelerate correspondingly.

In more established markets — the Americas broadly, Europe, and the Middle East and Africa (MEA) — the focus shifts from initial adoption to platform consolidation, regulatory compliance tooling, and deeper API integration between fund administration systems and cloud-native DevOps pipelines.

Market Drivers and Challenges

Key Growth Drivers

Cloud migration: Fund administrators and asset managers moving legacy on-premise systems to cloud platforms, creating demand for DevOps-managed infrastructure.

Regulatory compliance automation: Increasing reporting requirements (MiFID II, GDPR, SEC rules) are driving adoption of automated audit trails, identity verification, and data lineage tooling.

API-first integrations: Modern FundTech platforms increasingly expose REST and GraphQL APIs, enabling DevOps teams to build automated data pipelines between portfolio management, CRM, and accounting systems.

Security and identity: Zero-trust architecture and strong authentication (Okta, Twilio) are becoming table stakes for platforms handling investor data and financial transactions.

Challenges and Risks

Vendor lock-in: Deep integration with a single cloud provider or SaaS platform can limit flexibility and increase switching costs.

Data sovereignty: Cross-border fund operations must navigate differing data residency and privacy laws, complicating multi-region deployments.

Integration complexity: Connecting legacy fund accounting systems with modern SaaS platforms often requires custom middleware, increasing operational overhead.

Talent gaps: The intersection of financial domain knowledge and cloud-native engineering skills remains a scarce combination in the job market.

Analytical Frameworks Used in FundTech Market Research

Market reports in this space commonly apply two established strategic frameworks to evaluate vendor and market positioning:

SWOT Analysis: Assesses each vendor’s internal Strengths and Weaknesses alongside external Opportunities and Threats — useful for evaluating build-vs-buy decisions when selecting FundTech components.

Porter’s Five Forces: Examines competitive rivalry, supplier power, buyer power, threat of substitutes, and barriers to entry — a helpful lens for understanding why certain vendors (Salesforce, Oracle) maintain dominant market positions despite newer entrants.

Implications for DevOps and Platform Engineering Teams

For DevOps practitioners working in or adjacent to financial services, the FundTech vendor landscape directly shapes platform decisions:

Identity pipelines: Okta’s prominence means SCIM provisioning, OAuth 2.0 flows, and SAML integrations are common requirements when onboarding new FundTech SaaS tools.

Observability: Splunk remains a common choice for SIEM and log aggregation in regulated environments; teams should plan for Splunk forwarder deployment and index management as part of infrastructure-as-code templates.

Communication automation: Twilio’s APIs are frequently embedded in investor portals for OTP delivery and alerting — these integrations require secrets management and rate-limit handling in CI/CD pipelines.

Contract and document automation: DocuSign and Box APIs are often integrated into onboarding workflows, requiring webhook handling and retry logic in application backends.

Summary

The FundTech market represents a significant and growing segment of enterprise software adoption, with a vendor ecosystem that maps closely onto the tools DevOps teams already manage. Cloud infrastructure (AWS), identity (Okta), observability (Splunk), communications (Twilio), and CRM (Salesforce) are not peripheral to FundTech — they are its operational backbone. Understanding the market context helps platform engineers make better architectural decisions, anticipate integration requirements, and communicate infrastructure value to financial services stakeholders.

The report examined each player’s market share, production and service delivery locations, pricing models, gross margins, and product portfolio breadth.

Market Segmentation by Service Type

The public cloud service market is broadly segmented by the type of service delivered. The report categorised offerings into the following segments:

Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)

IaaS provides virtualised compute, storage, and networking resources on demand. AWS EC2, Azure Virtual Machines, and Google Compute Engine are canonical examples. Organisations consume IaaS to replace or augment physical data centres without long-term capital commitments.

Platform as a Service (PaaS)

PaaS layers a managed runtime, middleware, and developer toolchain on top of IaaS. It removes the need for teams to patch or scale the underlying OS and runtime. Examples include AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Azure App Service, and Google App Engine.

Software as a Service (SaaS)

SaaS delivers fully managed applications over the internet under a subscription model. Salesforce, Office 365, Google Workspace, Dropbox, and Adobe Creative Cloud are among the largest SaaS products by revenue.

Cloud Bursting

Cloud bursting is a hybrid architecture pattern in which a workload running on private infrastructure automatically expands into a public cloud when local capacity is exhausted. It is particularly relevant for batch processing and seasonal traffic spikes.

Multi-Tenant Computing

Multi-tenancy is a core architectural principle of public cloud, allowing a single provider infrastructure to serve many customers with logical isolation between them. It is foundational to the economies of scale that make public cloud pricing competitive.

Resource Pooling

Resource pooling refers to the provider’s ability to aggregate physical resources and dynamically allocate them across customers, a core characteristic in NIST’s definition of cloud computing.

Market Segmentation by Vertical / Application

Demand for public cloud services was analysed across the following industry verticals in the report:

Government – sovereign cloud requirements, compliance mandates, and digital transformation of citizen services.

Private Organisations – broad enterprise adoption across manufacturing, retail, media, and professional services.

Academics and Education – remote learning platforms, research computing, and student information systems.

Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) – high-compliance workloads, real-time payments infrastructure, and risk analytics.

Healthcare – electronic health records, medical imaging, and AI-assisted diagnostics, subject to HIPAA and regional equivalents.

Supply Chain Management – real-time inventory tracking, demand forecasting, and logistics optimisation.

Geographical Scope

The report’s regional analysis covered the following geographies, with attention to market share, projected growth rates, and emerging opportunities in each:

United States – the largest single market, home to the three dominant hyperscalers.

China – a distinct competitive environment dominated by Alibaba Cloud, Tencent Cloud, and Huawei Cloud, with significant regulatory separation from Western providers.

Europe – growth driven by GDPR compliance requirements and increasing data residency demands, with rising sovereign cloud initiatives.

Japan – mature enterprise IT market undergoing cloud-first policy adoption.

Southeast Asia – high-growth emerging market with rapid mobile-first cloud adoption.

India – rapidly expanding developer ecosystem, significant public-sector cloud initiatives, and growing startup demand.

Key Market Dynamics

Drivers

Shift from capital expenditure to operational expenditure models.

Growing demand for elastic compute for AI, ML, and big data workloads.

Proliferation of DevOps and CI/CD practices requiring on-demand provisioning.

Remote work and distributed team enablement.

Challenges

Data sovereignty and cross-border data transfer restrictions.

Vendor lock-in risk with proprietary managed services.

Security and shared-responsibility model complexity.

Unpredictable egress and inter-region data transfer costs.

Opportunities

Edge computing extending cloud capabilities closer to end users and IoT devices.

Multi-cloud strategies reducing dependence on any single provider.

Expansion of cloud marketplace ecosystems enabling ISV distribution.

Managed Kubernetes and serverless platforms lowering the barrier to cloud-native development.

Report Structure at a Glance

For practitioners assessing whether the full Innovate Insights report suits their needs, the table of contents covers the following major areas:

Global market size (volume and value) and forecast through 2026.

Regional market share breakdown and growth rate projections.

Competitive landscape with company profiles, pricing models, and gross margins.

Service-type segmentation with revenue and growth data per segment.

Vertical application segmentation with demand and growth data.

Marketing channel analysis (direct vs. indirect).

Market dynamics: drivers, challenges, and influence factors.

Research methodology and data triangulation approach.

Takeaways for DevOps and Cloud Engineering Teams

Market reports of this type are most useful when cross-referenced with your own procurement and architecture decisions. A few practical considerations:

Provider selection – AWS, Azure, and GCP continue to dominate IaaS/PaaS revenue. Niche providers (Rackspace, Navisite) remain competitive for managed service overlays rather than raw infrastructure.

Service model clarity – Clearly distinguishing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS responsibilities is essential for security posture and cost attribution. Each model shifts a different portion of the shared-responsibility stack to the provider.

Vertical compliance – BFSI and healthcare workloads require explicit verification of provider certifications (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA BAA, PCI DSS) before migration planning.

Multi-cloud strategy – The breadth of named competitors in this space underscores why multi-cloud governance tooling (cost management, policy enforcement, identity federation) has become a primary concern for platform engineering teams.

A step-by-step guide to setting up Continuous Integration for Salesforce metadata deployments using Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) / Visual Studio Team Services, Apache ANT, and the Salesforce Migration Toolkit.

This guide is based on a walkthrough originally published by Jitendra Zaa at jitendrazaa.com. It covers how to configure Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) — now known as Azure DevOps Server — to run automated Salesforce metadata deployments using Apache ANT and the Salesforce Migration Toolkit.

Overview

Continuous Integration (CI) for Salesforce metadata differs from traditional software CI because deployments target a cloud platform rather than a compiled binary. The Salesforce Metadata API, exposed through the ANT Migration Toolkit, is the standard mechanism for scripted deployments. By combining TFS (or its cloud-hosted equivalent, Visual Studio Team Services) with Apache ANT, teams can trigger automated retrieve-and-deploy cycles on every code commit or on a schedule.

This guide uses the cloud-hosted version of TFS (Visual Studio Team Services) to avoid the overhead of maintaining a local TFS installation, but the same build definition steps apply to an on-premises TFS server.

Prerequisites

A Microsoft account (used to sign in to Visual Studio Team Services)

Apache ANT installed on your local machine for local testing

The Salesforce ANT Migration Toolkit (
ant-salesforce.jar
), downloaded from your Salesforce org’s Setup page

A Git client (for example, TortoiseGit) for pushing code to TFS

Credentials for the source and target Salesforce orgs

Step 1: Create a Developer Account on Visual Studio Team Services

Navigate to https://www.visualstudio.com/ and choose Get Started for free under the Visual Studio Team Services section. If you do not already have a Microsoft developer account, you will be prompted to create one during sign-up. Once registered, you will land in the VSTS dashboard where you can create your first Team Project.

Step 2: Create a TFS Git Repository for Your Salesforce Metadata

One advantage TFS has over Jenkins-based CI setups is that source control is built in — you do not need a separate GitHub or Bitbucket account. After logging in, use the New Project wizard to create a project. The wizard is straightforward: provide a project name, choose a version control type (select Git), and choose a process template.

Visual Studio Team Foundation Server – New Project Screen

Once the project exists, clone the repository to your local machine using any Git client. For authentication you can use your VSTS username and password, or generate an SSH key pair and register the public key in your VSTS profile under Security > SSH public keys. SSH key authentication is recommended for CI agents because it avoids storing plain-text passwords.

Step 3: Create and Test the ANT Deployment Script Locally

Before wiring ANT into TFS, verify that the scripts work correctly on your local workstation. You need two files in the root of your repository:
build.properties
(credentials and environment URLs) and
build.xml
(the ANT targets).

build.properties

This file stores environment-specific values. Keep it in version control for non-sensitive settings, but consider externalising passwords as TFS build variables or secrets so that plain-text credentials are never committed to source control.

The
build.xml
file defines two ANT targets:
df14
retrieves metadata from the source org, and
deploy
pushes that metadata to the target org. Notice that
classpath
points to
${sfdcJarFile}
, which resolves to a path relative to the repository root. This is essential for cloud CI agents that have no pre-installed copy of the Salesforce JAR, so the JAR must be committed to the repository alongside the build scripts.

The
df14
target retrieves metadata from the source Salesforce instance; the
deploy
target then pushes that retrieved metadata to the target instance. Confirm that both targets complete without errors before moving to the TFS build definition.

Files to commit to the repository

build.xml

build.properties
(with passwords replaced by TFS build variables in production)

ant-salesforce.jar
— the Salesforce Migration Toolkit JAR, committed so the TFS cloud agent can find it

src/package.xml
— your metadata manifest

src/
— the retrieved metadata directory

Step 4: Create a New Build Definition in Team Foundation Server

With the scripts in the repository, you can now tell TFS how to run them automatically.

In the VSTS portal, navigate to Build & Release → Builds → New definition and select the ANT template.

Team Foundation Server (TFS) – New Build definition

Select the repository and branch

On the repository selection screen, choose your TFS-hosted Git repository. You can also connect to GitHub, a remote Git server, or SVN if your code lives elsewhere. Select the branch you want this build definition to monitor. TFS supports multiple build definitions per project, so you can configure, for example, a nightly build on
main
and a triggered build on a
develop
branch independently.

Configure the ANT build step

In the build steps editor, configure the ANT task:

ANT build file:
build.xml

Options: specify the targets to run, for example
df14 deploy
, or leave blank to use the default target defined in
build.xml

JDK version: ensure a compatible JDK is selected on the build agent

Save the build definition. You can trigger it manually the first time using the Queue build button to confirm everything works end to end before enabling a continuous integration trigger.

Security Considerations

Storing Salesforce credentials in
build.properties
and committing that file to source control is convenient for demonstration purposes but is a security risk in production. Instead:

Define Salesforce usernames and passwords as TFS/VSTS build variables marked as secret. Reference them in
build.xml
using ANT property overrides passed via the build options field (e.g.,
-Dsfdc.cb.df15.password=$(SF_PASSWORD)
).

Use a connected app with OAuth and a session ID instead of username/password where your tooling supports it.

Consider whether committing
ant-salesforce.jar
to Git is appropriate for your organisation; an alternative is to download it as an artifact during the build using a script step.

Summary

Setting up Salesforce CI with TFS involves four main steps: creating a VSTS account and project, pushing your Salesforce metadata and ANT scripts (including the Salesforce JAR) to the built-in Git repository, validating the ANT script locally, and then creating an ANT build definition in TFS that executes the same script on every commit or on a schedule. The integrated source control in TFS/VSTS reduces the number of third-party tools required compared to a Jenkins-based approach, making it a practical choice for teams already in the Microsoft ecosystem.
