Source:-https://www.securitysystemsnews.com/

ISSIMMEE, Fla.—Micro Key Solutions and the New DICE Corporation have partnered to provide central stations who are using Millennium Monitoring automation software with the ability to add interactive and advanced video services with AI analytics.

While the two companies both offer monitoring and video solutions currently, the partnership allows central stations powered by Millennium Monitoring to take advantage of interactive video services offered by Matrix Interactive.

“The change in focus from our video partners, including DICE’s Matrix Interactive, has positioned video monitoring into a more useful and sellable security offering. With analytics being right at the core, DICE’s solution embraces the changing needs in the market and delivers actionable information when dispatchers need it most, separating that data from the deluge of video information that floods a monitoring center,” said Chuck Speck, Executive Vice President of Micro Key Solutions.

With the overabundance of cameras and recorded video, the industry is seeing a greater rise in video monitoring. By integrating with Matrix Interactive, Millennium Monitoring meets that demand in a new way.

The Matrix Interactive engine uses several third party multi-billion-dollar technologies embedded into the platform, providing true AI analytics going beyond motion detection and basic video verification. These technologies include object detection, human behavior detection, and object filtration.

“We are proud to partner with Micro Key Solutions and are enjoying a great working relationship,” said New DICE Corporation Co-President Avi Lupo. “Thanks to an open and generic platform DICE developed for industry players, the solution is an opportunity to add value for Micro Key central stations and their customers by providing them with advanced interactive video monitoring. Plus, it is an excellent new RMR generator with initial minimal investment for Micro Key central stations. The platform is scalable, but they can start off with the entry level package that provides ROI in no time and then add more cameras, services, and modules when ready.”

Verified automated scheduled video tours are another service made possible through Matrix Interactive. The platform analyzes, understands, and prioritizes the video stream in real time. If nothing is detected during the tour, there is no need for operator intervention. The priority level determines if the video is sent to an end user, a central station operator, and/or recorded.

“Micro Key continues to partner with best-in-class solutions to provide real revenue and growth opportunities to our customers and help them separate themselves in their competitive markets. Solutions like this fit solidly in that mission and we’re excited to add them as a partner.”

Source:-https://www.businesswire.com/

IRVINE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services today announced that it has been named a Visionary Third-Party Logistics provider in Gartner’s recent industry report: 2021 Magic Quadrant for Third-Party Logistics, North America. The highly regarded biannual report evaluates third-party logistics providers conducting significant business in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.

2021 marks Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services’ third appearance in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for 3PLs report. Through each new analysis, the company has demonstrated more advanced and thorough logistics solutions to support customers’ needs through all stages of their product lifecycles. The most recent report highlights Ingram Micro’s strengths in the following areas:

Comprehensive end-to-end services, including supply chain planning, forward and reverse logistics, transportation, IT asset disposition and management, product liquidation and secondary market sales;
Advanced technology platforms including Shipwire, BlueIQ and Renugo, as well as investments and innovations under development in software and hardware automation to further support retail, e-commerce and enterprise customers; and
A commitment to reduce the company’s environmental impact through BREAAM-certified sites, zero-waste practices, transportation optimization and sustainable packaging.
“We are proud to be recognized as a Visionary supply chain and logistics leader in Gartner’s 2021 Third-Party Logistics report,” said Glen Sutton, senior vice president, Ingram Micro Commerce & Lifecycle Services. “Our service offerings are more robust than ever, which is validated by the diversity of new customers we’re working with and the growth and expansion of our existing relationships. Furthermore, over the past year, our global warehouse network and operations teams delivered amazing results, handling the unprecedented demand for e-commerce and the challenges of the global pandemic with admirable agility, adherence to safety precautions, and a resolute commitment to success.”

Gartner states: “Visionaries display process, technological or business model innovation, and are influencing […] the direction of the logistics industry,” adding that customers seek such providers for their “less-regimented and potentially innovative approach to logistics.”

The 2021 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Third-Party Logistics, North America, assessed 19 elite 3PL providers in writing its report. Gartner noted that this year, the global pandemic shed clear light on the value of strategic partnerships between shippers and 3PLs. It also emphasized the importance of continuous improvement, innovative and technology-driven solutions, and supply chain visibility.

Source:-https://www.businesswire.com/ EL PARQUE, Mexico–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Ingram Micro announced today the launch of Amazon Web Services (AWS) on the Ingram Micro Mexico […]

Source:-https://www.businesswire.com/

EL PARQUE, Mexico–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Ingram Micro announced today the launch of Amazon Web Services (AWS) on the Ingram Micro Mexico Cloud Marketplace and will be distributing a full range of AWS solutions to its reseller network in Mexico, bolstering the offering of the world’s most comprehensive and broadly adopted set of cloud solutions.

Ingram Micro Cloud, an Advanced AWS Consulting Partner and AWS Distributor, announced its global Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) with AWS in March. One of the central aims of the agreement is to drive the geographic reach and footprint of AWS and its partners. As part of this global expansion, Ingram Micro Cloud is now delivering a complete portfolio of AWS solutions to resellers in Mexico, as well as its recent launches in Australia and New Zealand. More global expansions will be announced in 2021. Ingram Micro’s large network of partners will see new opportunities to meet customer needs and expand their IaaS business as a result of the SCA with AWS.

José Antonio Morales, AWS Partner Lead for Latin America, affirmed that the alliance with Ingram Micro is strategic in driving both companies’ digital transformation, both technologically and mentally. “Both organizations decided to strengthen our alliance and jointly invest in Mexico so that our partners can have access to better programs and benefits,” he said. “In addition to understanding our customer-centric culture, they will be able to certify their teams and specialize in our 200+ solutions.”

“For over 12 years, Ingram Micro has been in the cloud business and it has been complemented by acquisitions and developed powerful and easy-to-use solutions. AWS comes to complement our offer of infrastructure and powerful strategic relationships which will allow us to develop different solutions to perform in different markets,” added Luis Férez, VP & CCE of Ingram Micro Mexico.

The Ingram Micro team and AWS kicked off a virtual launch event on May 4 to present exclusive services and offerings for local partners interested in building and scaling their AWS offerings. Executives from AWS and Ingram Micro talked about how the addition of these new services will help boost partner capabilities and allow them to deliver comprehensive solutions to solve unique business problems. The event garnered an overwhelming response and had more than double the amount of expected attendees.

Additionally, the collaboration will see both organizations work together to bolster Ingram Micro Cloud’s current skills and offerings, as well as develop new resources to support channel partners in managing end customers. Ingram Micro Cloud currently provides an AWS Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) team with over 100+ AWS certifications, AWS Professional and Managed Services, AWS Well-Architected services, AWS Operations and Billing Services, and more.

Ingram Micro Cloud also covers a wide range of partner enablement and support initiatives to help AWS partners build a healthy AWS practice through partner programs like AWS Illuminate and ISV Activate, which provide end-to-end engagement models for Ingram Micro Cloud to enable SI Partners and ISVs through their journey in the cloud.

Ingram Micro Cloud

Ingram Micro Cloud brings together innovators and problem solvers to help the world accomplish more. It facilitates and manages the cloud’s complex digital value chain—all powered by CloudBlue technology. Ingram Micro Cloud operates in 64 countries with over 55,000 reseller partners, and its Cloud Marketplace serves 14 million seats, offering more than 120 cloud solutions.
Source:-https://securityboulevard.com/ A few days ago, I had the privilege of attending a boardroom discussion of CISOs at the virtual Chicago […]

Source:-https://securityboulevard.com/

A few days ago, I had the privilege of attending a boardroom discussion of CISOs at the virtual Chicago CISO Summit on the topic of Rethinking Security and Governance in the Public Cloud. The boardroom discussions are great since they serve as an opportunity to benchmark various CISO topics, and to discover cloud security challenges enterprise organizations are facing.

It’s clear from our discussion that the ways in which we build technology value have changed drastically. Shifts from monolithic software to microservices, waterfall development to agile, IT to DevOps, and data centers to cloud form the foundation of the digital disruption revolution executives are leading. And, in the past 12 months, executives have ramped cloud faster than anyone ever expected.

With this rapid evolution, it is clear that enterprises must re-invent how they govern and secure in this “new world” where identities are the new perimeter. The old control points of IT, firewalls, and endpoints are simply outdated and ineffective in the new world of cloud development. Today, Cloud Service Providers, like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, look after the infrastructure and for enterprises, the new control points now center around identity, data, and the workload itself.

This transformation was top of mind in our session that was attended by twelve CISOs from public and private companies from a variety of industry verticals including Finance, Insurance, Retail, and more. In our group, all CISOs expressed some challenges with the complexity of the public cloud, rapid changes of the past twelve months, and blind spots in cloud security. For larger or more security-mature organizations, the complexities included a lack of integration between multiple departments including, DevOps, audit teams, security, and operations.

Takeaways From Our Boardroom
Identity is the New Perimeter
For many years, defense in depth was dominated by network controls. Traditional network security controls remain an essential component of public cloud security, but they aren’t sufficient. AWS, Azure, GCP, and others offer a rich service portfolio that exposes pubic HTTPS endpoints by default. IAM controls are the primary method of protection. However, not all of these services allow IP-based access control list (ACL) rules. Additionally, IP-based ACLs are coarse and inflexible controls for modern microservice-based cloud applications. The foundation of information security is in the public cloud focuses on identity-based security that controls access to cloud-based resources and data. Security professionals recognize that “identity is the new perimeter” for securing data in public clouds, and consequently, proper identity security is crucial to managing access-related errors. At Sonrai security we offer updated webinars to guide you on this journey of cloud security. Public cloud IAM models introduce many identity-to-data trust relationship configuration options that, although powerful, can come with risk. For example, poorly used access IAM controls leave significant attack vectors to sensitive data.

Entitlement Risk
Many CISOs in our group believe the highest identity risk lies with “entitlements,” not users or identities alone. The ability to delegate roles can become quite problematic in a public cloud because they are often a hidden risk. Management controls must be adapted to address concerns around privilege delegation to a service or function. Compute, containers, and serverless functions can assume a role that can be configured with permission to perform specific tasks and access certain data.

Granting an assumed role to a service can be your friend when your public cloud is architected correctly by a knowledgeable IT security and cloud team. It eliminates the unfortunate programming habit of storing service account credentials in configuration files or worse in the code. However, the delegation of a dominant role to a service must be fit for purpose with a focus on least privilege. Without this focus, you open your organization to risk.

Privacy Concerns
Our group’s CISOs are seeing privacy become a real hot button topic with board members with the advent of GDPR and similar regulations. They are beginning to see asks from the board to be educated on these topics and informed about the state of “privacy compliance” of the organization. Many of our group’s members see this has a huge challenge as many cannot effectively answer “where is my data?”, “who can access my data?” and “when has it been accessed?” They foresee many difficult discussions that will wrestle with questions like: “who and what exactly do we do with our customers’ data” while “not stopping the business” or increasing risk.

Cloud Complexity
Cloud complexities will continue to grow. The widespread adoption of cloud-native computing, micro-service-based architectures, containers, and serverless has led to an explosion in the number of ways that people and non-people identities can access sensitive data in public clouds. While this leads to incredible innovation, if ungoverned, it leads to a boatload of risk. Many CISOs must address the need for modern cloud-native organizations to find and prevent vulnerabilities tied to interrelationships between identity (people and non-people) and data.

Finding and eliminating complex identity and data access risks, in a way that aligns with how applications are developed today is a big challenge for security teams. Many CISOs struggle with operational workflow and remediation which prevent them from integrating seamlessly to eliminate risk in complex environments. Early cloud security systems have focused on simpler cloud network setups and sent too many alarms to the wrong teams. The CISO teams think that a new cloud security model needs to be heavily focused on identity and data.

Shift Left Needs Clarity
Some CISOs felt very strongly that this was their very frustrating) Achilles heel. There is still significant work to be done, particularly in the areas of including security in the CI/CD pipeline sooner. Although there is an industry-wide push to shift left, greater clarity is needed on how teams’ daily responsibilities are changing, because it impacts the entire organization’s security proficiency.

Conclusion
Building on the success of this boardroom session, we’re looking forward to ongoing, productive conversations that have focused on key data security issues including compliance, data governance, identities, and more. With this evolution underway, it is clear that leaders are reinventing how they govern and secure in this “new world” and we are here to help.

Source:-https://www.zdnet.com/

Informatica on Tuesday is officially unveiling its intelligent data management cloud (IDMC), an AI-powered platform designed to serve a broad base of users working with data in multi-cloud environments. Along with that, the company is announcing a series of partnerships and integrations with Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.

Informatica has been in the business of data management tools for more than 20 years, and in that span of time, data has become increasingly valuable, Informatica Chief Product Officer Jitesh Ghai told ZDNet.

“We recognize our community of data-led practitioners has grown well beyond technical ETL experts, well beyond data engineers and data scientists,” he said. Now, it includes “non-technical users who want to operate with facts. Gut-based decision making has been laid bare as insufficient moving forward.”

As data becomes more valuable, so does data management, Informatica argues. Its IDMC offers more than 200 intelligent cloud services, powered by Informatica’s AI engine CLAIRE. It applies AI to metadata to give an organization an understanding of its “data estate,” Ghai explained.

The “data estate” tells you about the fragmentation of data — its location and the various domains of data. “And through that insight,” Ghai said, Informatica will “automate the ability to connect to data, to build data pipelines, process data, provision it for analytics… to apply advanced transformations to cleanse that data and trust it… to match, merge and build a single source of truth.”

From there, the platform aims to make data more accessible to business users with features like the “data marketplace.” With the marketplace, users can “shop for data” much as one would shop for consumer goods on the Amazon marketplace, Ghai explained.

The IDMC is micro-services based and API-driven, with elastic and serverless processing. It’s built for hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The platform is already running at scale, processing more than 17 trillion transactions each month. It’s leveraging over 11 petabytes of active metadata, Ghai said, to drive the data management that thousands of organizations are using for everything from customer experience modernization to supply chain management and financial transformations.

Unilever, for example, is using Informatica to get a “360 view” of their customers, Ghai said. The consumer goods conglomerate is leveraging its data to learn how to deeply engage with customers via their resellers. It’s also using data to manage its supply chain.

“More organizations want to be data-led than ever before,” Ghai said. “In the old world, we were focused on Fortune 500. In the new world, we’re focused well beyond the Global 2000.”

To reach as many customers as possible, Informatica is partnering with Microsoft to make the IDMC free on Azure for customers who want a simple testing opportunity. Otherwise, the IDMC is available in a consumption-based pricing model. Informatica is also expanding its Azure global footprint with new IDMC regions in Asia and Europe.

The free service provides 100 compute hours per month at no charge for Cloud Data Integration Services, Cloud Mass Ingestion Services, and out-of-the box connectivity to the most popular on-premise, cloud, and SaaS data sources and applications.

Meanwhile, Informatica is partnering with AWS to launch integrated cloud-native data governance and catalog as-a-service. The solution offers Informatica and Amazon Redshift integration, enabling customers to speed up data onboarding.

On Google Cloud, Informatica is making available Cloud Data Integration (CDI) Elastic, and it’s improving Cloud Mass Ingestion and API Management. Informatica’s partnership with Google Cloud has seen 135 percent year-over-year growth since 2019, the company said.

Source:-https://www.pymnts.com/ CloudBlue, which is owned by Ingram Micro, announced its acquisition of Harmony Business Systems in a press release. Unofficial […]

Source:-https://www.pymnts.com/

CloudBlue, which is owned by Ingram Micro, announced its acquisition of Harmony Business Systems in a press release.

Unofficial word of a likely deal has circulated for months. Channele2e reported in November that investor chatter had Ingram Micro and Harmony, a provider of a professional services automation platform, working on a deal.

“[HarmonyPSA’s] comprehensive professional services automation (PSA) and revenue management software is now a complement to CloudBlue’s portfolio of services designed to simplify and accelerate resellers’ transition to an Everything-as-a-Service business,” the release stated.

Nimesh Davé, president of CloudBlue and Ingram Micro Cloud, said in the release that the CloudBlue’s acquisition of Harmony is a response to CloudBlue’s managed service provider (MSP) partners’ need to grow a cloud services business with less risk.

“We are delighted to have the Harmony team join our CloudBlue community as we expand our technology offerings,” he said in the release.

Speaking to CRN Network, Davé said: “We want to continue to give our partner customers a choice to integrate and operate on. As we have grown our ecosystem, we’ve seen that most of our partners around the globe are not using PSA tools. PSA tools are great. We are trying to reach [small- to medium-sized business (SMB)] partners to give them CRM, invoice, billing, and other services. We’re reacting to those partners who tell us they need these kind of tools.”

Source:-https://www.prnewswire.com/

TOKYO, Feb. 17, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — Trend Micro Incorporated (TYO: 4704;TSE: 4704), a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, today announced earnings results for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2020, ending December 31, 2020.

In the fourth quarter of 2020, Trend Micro continued its steady growth path with a solid 7% growth in net sales at constant currency, for both the quarter and the full year. This growth confirms the steady positive development throughout the pandemic year of 2020 and reflects a continuous growth across all segments.

Source:-https://www.securitymagazine.com/ Intezer researchers discovered a new vulnerability in Azure Functions, which would allow an attacker to escalate privileges and escape […]

Source:-https://www.securitymagazine.com/

Intezer researchers discovered a new vulnerability in Azure Functions, which would allow an attacker to escalate privileges and escape the Azure Functions Docker container to the Docker host.

Azure Functions is a serverless compute service that allows users to run code without having to provision or manage infrastructure. Azure Functions is Microsoft’s equivalent to Amazon Web Services’ well-known Lambda service, says Intezer.

After an internal assessment Microsoft has determined that the vulnerability has no security impact on Function users as the Docker host itself is protected by a Hyper-V boundary. They have made the changes to block /etc and the /sys directories based on Intezer’s findings since this change has already been deployed.

“Instances like this underscore that vulnerabilities are sometimes out of the cloud user’s control. Attackers can find a way inside through vulnerable third-party software. While you should focus on reducing the attack surface as much as possible, you also need to prioritize the runtime environment to make sure you don’t have any malicious code lurking in your systems,” says Intezer.

Jigar Shah, Vice President at Valtix, says, “As enterprises adopt new approaches, like serverless and micro-services architecture, simply relying on the underlying security of these services or those from the cloud provider is just asking for trouble. The old mantra of reducing the attack surface and defense in depth is still crucial: use attribute-based access control, and apply URL filtering for all outbound flows. Network Security 101 does not disappear because we moved to public clouds.”

Source:-https://midhudsonnews.com

The findings and recommendations from the study, which began in 2018, suggest improving the technological infrastructure of regional transit, based on results of 1,295 surveys representing 75 percent ridership and 25 percent non-riders.

In the vein of technological improvement, one of the implements backed by data is creation of micro-transit services. Micro-transit acts like a public Uber, or Lyft, and allows riders to directly request vehicles. Depending on the density of the service area, different size vehicles would be utilized and evaluation of that type of service outside of the region suggests it could fill service gaps, improve routes between townships, as well as improve availability to the Metro-North and Amtrak stations in the area. This would specifically mitigate current lack of midday service from Beacon to Newburgh, the absence of service to the Rhinecliff Amtrak and provide direct routing from Bearsville to Woodstock, for example.

Senior Transportation Planning and Project Manager at Foursquare ITP, Boris Palchik, who was enlisted to guide the study, was optimistic that the three counties would adopt micro-transit services.

“Dutchess County, for example, has already started studying micro-transit,” he said. “As we complete our study and hand over the recommendations to the three counties that we’re working with, it’s likely that the other two will look into this as well. The only barriers, really, to implementation is money.”

The study recommends a 10-zone micro-transit service area across the three counties. Those areas would be the 17M/US-6 corridor, a west of Newburgh area, an east of Newburgh area, Beacon to Newburgh on both sides of the Hudson, south Poughkeepsie, northern Dutchess, southern Ulster County, Bearsville/Woodstock and West Hurley. However, Palchik said launching a pilot in a few of those areas, which is in line with what other municipalities have done, could provide valuable feedback as to whether micro-transit is feasible in the region.

The study also points towards the tech of transit signal priority (TSP). This system will allow transit vehicles to have priority in signaled intersections. It could be implemented as either a passive system, where signaling is programmed to be more conducive to transit vehicles based on time of day, or it could be active where the system will recognize transit vehicles and the signals will give them priority in real-time. Active systems will require more technological infrastructure and transit vehicles would have to be equipped with transponders to communicate with the traffic signals.

The full presentation will become available Friday through the various counties’ websites and the findings submitted to each county for evaluation.

The hi-tech, app-enabled e-scooters are already in service at The Pearl-Qatar.
Mowasalat (Karwa) ties up with Falcon Ride for micro-mobility project, with support from UDC
Mowasalat (Karwa) has entered the micro-mobility business with Falcon Ride, launching “safe, sustainable, tech-enabled micro-mobility services” at The Pearl-Qatar by providing transport services on the island through e-scooters.
The new service is a co-operation project with Mowasalat (Karwa), transport services and solutions provider, and the launch is supported by United Development Company (UDC), master developer of The Pearl-Qatar and Gewan Island, according to a press statement.
The hi-tech, app-enabled e-scooters were “enabled” for the public on Sunday.
“This launch reflects our ability to partner with major corporations and bring micro-mobility solutions to destinations that are committed to the use of high-end technology and to sustainability within communities,” explained Hussain Abdulla, co-founder and managing director, Falcon Ride.
The e-scooter service will now enable visitors and residents of The Pearl-Qatar to obtain even more practical means of transport.
“We have partnered this great sustainable initiative as part of our strategy of connecting people with convenient transport solutions throughout Qatar,” said Khalid Kafoud, Media & Government Relations manager of Mowasalat (Karwa).
He added, “We constantly embrace more future-oriented solutions to make our services easily and safely available for all. In a nutshell – we are confident to soon make Mowasalat (Karwa) part of everyone’s everyday life.”
UDC has demonstrated its willingness to back the Falcon Ride initiative with this e-scooter pilot programme, as part of its continuous efforts to enhance The Pearl-Qatar’s lifestyle experience and to support innovative and sustainable technologies, the statement notes.
The Pearl-Qatar, “with its beautiful surroundings, is an ideal destination to introduce sustainable micro-mobility solutions, which will enable riders to enjoy the island’s stunning views as well as its diverse retail and leisure offerings”.
With this launch, Falcon kicks off its “ambitious goal of changing the face of national public transport in a post-Covid-19 world by providing safe, social distance enabling alternatives”, the statement adds.
“This launch with Mowasalat (Karwa) demonstrates the viability of collaborating with property owners and the public sector to provide electronic micro-mobility transportation. We will look to engage with other corporates to advance our aim to provide last-mile connectivity solutions, which will support Qatar in achieving its FIFA World Cup 2022 and Qatar National Vision 2030 goals,” added Abdulla.
