Source:-https://siliconangle.com/

Shipa Corp., a Kubernetes application development and management platform, today announced the launch of Shipa Cloud that will assist developers, DevOps teams and platform engineers with the management and support of cloud-native applications.

Shipa Cloud provides a secure developer-centric platform for managing operating applications on Kubernetes. This includes the automatic creation and deployment of all objects.

It operates within the application layer and ensures that developers can observe the app’s entire context without interacting with infrastructure or tinkering with Kubernetes under the hood. As a result, the developers and engineers involved in the process do not need Kubernetes expertise.

“Kubernetes is a powerful and requisite tool for modern application development, but for too many enterprises now leveraging it, it remains frustratingly complex to manage,” said Bruno Andrade, chief executive of Shipa. “We launched Shipa in 2020 to take many of those infrastructure tasks off developers’ plates.”

Shipa Cloud features and benefits include the elimination of existing YAML and Helm charting, post-deployment observability, easy setup and governance and out-of-the-box integration with many cloud-native tools.

Upon installing Shipa Cloud, DevOps teams no longer need to update YAML files constantly and maintain policies for automated governance. The company says it will do that itself to deploy applications, so teams can stay in touch with Kubernetes environments through the interface.

Once deployed, Ship Cloud provides in-depth observability across all applications for statuses, objects, dependencies and network policies. It also connects with numerous pre-built connections into existing management tools for application lifecycle history and version management.

Shipa Cloud also allows DevOps teams to set policies for governance easily– for example, policies can be applied across the entire application stack. Once deployed, it can apply to network security, user roles, resource consumption and much more.

“We enable developers to focus on application deployment and management, while also empowering DevOps to set up the control and compliance policies they require,” said Andrade.

The platform also integrates with numerous cloud-native tools popular on the market such as Vault by HashiCorp Inc., Datadog Inc., JFrog Ltd., Circle Internet Services Inc., Traefik Labs and Istio.

Source:-https://channellife.co.nz/ Ricoh has launched a new cloud-based, secure and efficient print management solution for New Zealand businesses. The new solution, […]

Source:-https://channellife.co.nz/

Ricoh has launched a new cloud-based, secure and efficient print management solution for New Zealand businesses.

The new solution, Universal Print, is a cloud-based print solution that allows organisations to manage their print infrastructure from a central location. This is easily achieved by connecting the printing device to Microsoft 365 environment, eliminating the need to resource and manage an on-premise print server.

“This fits perfectly with our strategy as a digital services provider,” says Ricoh New Zealand managing director, Mike Pollok.

“We’ve helped our customers move many of their day-to-day business processes to the cloud already and being able to take print with them offers a host of advantages,” he says.

“As a premium Microsoft Gold Partner and experienced print management provider, Ricoh is uniquely positioned to offer the latest, cutting-edge solution to our customers,” Pollok adds.

Universal Print uses Internet Print Protocol (IPP) that does not require device-specific installation or maintenance so its no longer necessary to install print drivers to every user device that needs to print.

As Universal Print runs completely on Microsoft Azure, when deployed with compatible printers, it completely eliminates the need for any on-premise infrastructure. For non-compatible printers, Universal Print connector software facilitates this process.

According to Ricoh, Universal Print comes with unique features to suit the needs of a modern, hybrid workplace. It allows location-based printing making it easy for users to find a printer nearest to them, keeps data and documents secure on the cloud, eliminates the need to install and maintain printer drivers across devices and offers robust management and reporting capabilities through the centralised Azure portal.

“Simply put, with Universal Print, businesses can easily scale up or down with changing requirements and control their print management system in an efficient, cost-effective manner,” the company says.

Ricoh New Zealand Limited empowers digital workplaces through document management, IT services, commercial printing and office communications. The company helps businesses transform the way they work and harness collective knowledge.

“As a truly global technology provider, Ricoh imagines what the future could bring, and embraces change driven by imaginative thinking.”

Last year, Ricoh was named a leader in IDC MarketScape’s Worldwide High-Speed Inkjet Press 2019-2020 Vendor Assessment.

The recognition cites Ricoh’s broad strengths, including technological innovation, attentiveness to customer feedback and a large install base. The report in particular noted Ricoh’s business development programmes, with high visibility and strong reputation as powerful complements to a robust technology portfolio.

Source:-https://www.contractpharma.com/

Stevanato Group, a global provider of integrated containment and delivery solutions to the biopharmaceutical and life sciences industries, has launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI) platform, based on Deep Learning (DL) models, that leverages the benefits of human-like decision-making in automatic visual inspection equipment. The platform allows pharma companies to overcome the traditional trade-off between detection rate and false rejection rate, ensuring robust and replicable results. False rejects can be reduced tenfold, and the detection rate can be improved, yielding up to 99.9% accuracy, both for particle inspection and cosmetic defects detection.

Deep Learning is particularly beneficial when applied to difficult-to-inspect and high-value biotech drugs, as it allows pharma companies to achieve higher productivity while preserving drug integrity. Drugs in the form of suspensions or lyophilized cakes frequently challenge available vision tools, causing misinterpretations of supposed defects. Traditional systems can, for instance, misclassify cosmetic defects or air bubbles as particles. Artificial Intelligence mitigates misclassification and reduces costly re-inspection.

Thanks to its partnership with Microsoft and the adoption of Microsoft Azure platform, Machine Learning and AI features, Stevanato Group intends to deliver “smart” equipment compliant with strict pharmaceutical data management and security requirements, while improving inspection performance and reducing costs related to production reparametrization. The certified cloud-based platform is compliant with U.S. CFR 21 Part 11 and EU GMP Annex 11, meets data integrity needs, and offers advanced monitoring tools such as heat maps and confusion matrix for model performance evaluation.

Incorporating new technologies can be challenging for pharma companies, as it usually requires them to adapt internal processes and invest time and resources. The combination of the latest digital developments and a qualified team of vision and AI engineers bring a dedicated and accurate data analysis service with continuous support for tasks from image collection to model validation.

“We are glad to provide our customers with inspection machines equipped with the latest AI technology, which are able to substantially increase defect detection accuracy even with the most challenging drugs,” said Raffaele Pace, engineering vice president of operations, Stevanato Group. “Choosing Microsoft Azure as our technology platform allows us to offer a proven solution while delivering the highest standards in terms of data security. Thanks to our skilled visual inspection engineers and experts in big data analysis, we can support clients from the implementation of Artificial Intelligence to ongoing support during operations.”

Key features of the new AI platform include:

• Cloud-based: Data remains online and therefore perpetually available. The certified cloud-based platform that stores images and data can work with any cloud-based system and allows operators to manage images even if they are stored in the server.

• Security: Compliant with U.S. CFR 21 Part 11 and EU GMP Annex 11, the platform enables data sharing in a completely safe environment. Further, multifactor authentication and encrypted communication ensure complete access control and data security.

• Assistance: Continuous support is available for all platform capabilities throughout the process, assisting pharma companies with a variety of tasks including a labeling assistant tool to optimize timing for classification and new recipe development.

• Monitoring: The platform features a wide range of statistics and visualizations (heat maps, con-fusion matrix, etc.) for model performance evaluation. Pharma companies can track and moni-tor all processes through real-time reports.

Source:-https://siliconangle.com Atlassian, maker of the project automation software Jira, today announced four new features that will give enterprise DevOps teams […]

Source:-https://siliconangle.com

Atlassian, maker of the project automation software Jira, today announced four new features that will give enterprise DevOps teams greater visibility into development pipelines, shortening time from idea to production regardless of what tool they’re using.

These new features will extend Atlassian’s flagship project Jira Software Cloud and will allow developers to visualize and measure progress and issues during continuous integration and continuous delivery, or CI/CD for short.

With DevOps teams depending on constant action and communication and a broad variety of tools this has also led to a mishmash of communication styles, application programming interfaces, dashboards, interfaces and interconnections.

The four new features are “Code in Jira,” a team code repository surfacing feature; “Deployments in Jira,” a real-time view of where code deployment is in the CI/CD pipeline; “Deployment frequency” that has expanded to track performance across the entire CI/CD pipeline; and “Cycle time,” which now goes beyond just measuring average lead time.

With Code in Jira, DevOps teams can stay focused on code and avoid being disrupted by pings as often because every team can see who is working from which code repository at a glance.

Using Code in Jira, a dashboard user can simply open the backend and view the most recently active repos across Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab or Git Integration – have it automatically surfaced – and then look at which team is using it. The result makes it obvious who is working on what.

Deployments in Jira enables anyone in the team to get a real-time view of where deployment is across any CI/CD provider. That means that any DevOps team member, be they a developer, project manager, team lead or executive, can get overall visibility of a project without having to walk into a cubicle and interrupt someone in the middle of a task to understand where a project is going.

With Deployment Frequency, the metric has been updated to track performance across the entire CI/CD pipeline for any provider. As a result, it can automatically calculate how often the team is shipping and how that’s trending over time so it’s not necessary to hold stand-up meetings to coordinate across tools manually or bother the ops team.

According to a study of the company’s own customers, Atlassian discovered that 74% of teams measured success through deployment frequency.

Finally, Cycle Time allows teams to go beyond measuring average lead time and track down a granular view of each segment of the development workflow. Since each piece of work across all Atlassian and third-party tools is tied to a Jira issue, it’s possible to identify bottlenecks and thus track down and fix them.

All four of these features roll out to DevOps teams today and will connect with Atlassian’s first-party and third-party tools, including more than 1,400 integrations through the company’s DevOps Marketplace.
