Hi everyone, welcome to my course study on Jira software. In this course, you will learn everything about Jira software and I will explain to you each and everything about Jira software from a user perspective and from an admin perspective as well. So, before going forward, I would like to tell you this article is for people who are brand new to Jira. Jira is a very comprehensive tool with a lot of customizable capabilities and I would like to share one secret about how personally we use Jira, we use Jira to track our day-to-day activities and we love to use it to track our activities. For this article, I have certain agenda.

What is JIRA?

So, we move forward to know more about what is Jira? So, Jira is project management, issue-tracking, and bug-tracking tool. For agile software and business teams. It is made by a company and the company name is Atlassian. It is an Australian company but now they have different offices in many countries. Actually, the name “JIRA” is inherited from the Japanese word “Go Jira” which means “Godzilla”.

Why should we use JIRA?

There are lots of software available in the market which are very similar to Jira then why should we use Jira? Why do the people in most of the organizations prefer to go with a Jira? So, the reason is it has everything that you need to manage projects and teams and is fully customizable to your needs, you can customize your workflow, add your custom issues types, you can add your fields, and design your issue operations screen as per your team requirements and countless adds-on to further enhance the functionality. Let me tell you about the marketplace of Jira where you can find various apps which are used to enhance the functionality of Jira. Let me tell you about the official website of Atlassian www.atlassian.com and you will click on the product tab, you will see on the right-hand side, you will have an option of the marketplace so, you will click on that and you will find multiple apps already available. You can filter as per the Atlassian products, if you will click on Jira then you will see lots of apps are available like tempo timesheet, automation for Jira, and many more so you can use any app according to your requirements so let’s move forward for another one. Features Jira has lots of features that make your life easier.

What are the JIRA products?

The other one is what are the Jira products? Many peoples are not aware of like Jira is a family of products, built to help all types of teams track their work there are four products built on Jira platforms:

Jira core

Jira software

Jira service Desk

Jira Ops

I will tell you one by one what is the meaning and what are the features for these products so, let’s start with the first one Jira core, what is Jira core? It allows you to track issues using a customizable workflow which basically determines how issues can flow from start to completion and what are the other steps along with. This basic functionality that would you get with Jira core is the base bare minimum Jira tool that you can use for simple business-related products and task management. Let’s move forward to the next one and which is Jira software with Jira software which you will be using in this complete course. You have extra agile functionality where you can track software projects with agile methodology. In other words, Jira software includes both Jira core plus agile methodology. Now, what is the Jira service desk? It is a service desk that is used for support projects using the Jira service desk you can give a better experience to your customers they can easily ask for help and your agents can respond to them in a better way. The other one is Jira Ops, which is an incident management tool. It is used to centralize alerts and notify the right people at the right time so, these are the four products that come under the Jira platforms.

Which agile methodology is used in JIRA?

Most of the people who start to learn Jira, who use to learn Jira has this question in their mind which agile methodology is used in Jira? So, I will tell you Jira software is an agile project management tool that supports any agile methodology, be it Scrum, Kanban, or your own unique flavor. You can use Scrum, Kanban, mixed methodologies, and agile scale up to your requirement but this software fit your framework scrum, Kanban, or your unique another one so, in this course you will focus on scrum and a little bit about Kanban as well because I saw most of the organization uses scrum, Kanban as well. I wish that you will get more core fundamentals about Jira methodology and it will more guide you in the future points of view.

From meditation and language learning to fitness and community, these 12 apps cover every corner of your daily routine when you're spending more time indoors.

When your daily routine is upended and you’re spending far more time at home than usual, your phone can be either a distraction or a genuinely useful tool — depending on which apps you reach for. This list, originally curated by CNN in April 2020 during the early weeks of COVID-19 lockdowns, covers apps across six categories: relaxation, gaming, learning, cooking, fitness, and staying informed. Nearly all of them are free to download, with optional in-app purchases available.

For Chilling Out

Stop, Breathe & Think

This meditation app opens with a simple check-in: you rate your physical and emotional state, and the app responds with tailored activities. Those might include guided breathing exercises, short meditations, or — occasionally — a calming compilation of cat videos. Activities are grouped by emotional tone, covering feelings like compassion, grief, and equanimity. Sessions are short enough to maintain focus but substantial enough to genuinely ease anxiety. The interface uses cool blues and approachable cartoon instructors to set the tone from the moment you open it.

For Gaming

Playing With Friends: Heads Up! on Houseparty

Heads Up! is a reverse-charades style game backed by Ellen DeGeneres. Houseparty is a group video-calling app that places multiple friends on screen simultaneously. When you can’t meet in person, combining the two is straightforward:

Download Houseparty.

Tap the dice icon in the upper-right corner.

Select Heads Up! from the drop-down menu.

Invite your friends and start playing.

Playing Solo: The Sims Mobile

The Sims franchise remains a reliable escape. In The Sims Mobile you control a virtual person who can shop, throw parties, go on dates, and interact with ghosts — essentially everything that indoor life temporarily limits. You can play it as wish fulfillment, or lean into the absurdity and trap your Sim inside the house by deleting all the doors. Either approach is oddly therapeutic.

For Learning

edX

edX provides access to thousands of university-level courses through its mobile app. Courses span subjects from computer science and data analysis to humanities and business, offered by more than 100 partner universities. Notable during the pandemic was Yale University making its popular “Happiness” course freely available to non-students. You won’t earn a formal degree through the free tier, but audit access to structured course content is a legitimate way to develop new skills or deepen existing knowledge.

Duolingo

Duolingo turns language learning into a habit through game-like mechanics: image-heavy lessons, streaks, XP points, and short daily sessions. The app offers more than 35 languages, including constructed languages like Klingon (from Star Trek) and High Valyrian (from Game of Thrones). Its gamified structure makes it easier to stay consistent compared to traditional study methods, though serious learners will eventually want to supplement it with other resources.

For Cooking

Project Foodie: Guided Cooking

Project Foodie is aimed at home cooks who want to go beyond their usual repertoire. It walks users through recipes via step-by-step video instruction led by professional chefs. Unlike broadcast cooking shows, the format doesn’t skip prep steps — every stage is demonstrated in full. This makes it genuinely useful for developing foundational culinary techniques like blanching, julienning, and proper knife work.

For Socializing

Nextdoor

Nextdoor connects you with people in your immediate neighborhood — many of whom you may never have met in person. The platform is organized by local area, making it useful for coordinating mutual aid, sharing local information, and checking in on neighbors who may need support. As with any social media platform, misinformation can circulate on Nextdoor, so approach unverified posts with appropriate skepticism and look to official public health sources for health guidance.

For Working Out

Aaptiv

Aaptiv delivers audio-guided workouts, meaning you follow spoken instructions rather than watching a screen. This makes it especially suitable for running, strength training, or yoga where you want to keep your phone in your pocket or on a surface without constantly glancing at it. The app recommends workouts based on your fitness goals and current level, making it a reasonable starting point if you’re building a routine from scratch.

Peloton

Peloton’s app extends well beyond its branded stationary bike. The video-guided content library includes strength training, yoga, boot camps, stretching, and cooldown classes. At the time of the original article’s publication (April 2020), Peloton was offering a 30-day free trial. Check the current Peloton website for up-to-date pricing and trial offers, as these change over time.

Runkeeper

Runkeeper tracks outdoor runs using GPS, logs distance and pace over time, and lets you monitor progress across sessions. The app includes training plans for different goals — from beginner 5K prep to longer distances — and previously offered rewards toward fitness gear for consistent use. It’s a straightforward tool for anyone using outdoor running as a daily mental reset.

For Staying Healthy and Informed

Apple’s COVID-19 App

During the pandemic, Apple released a dedicated COVID-19 app developed in collaboration with the CDC, FEMA, and the White House Coronavirus Task Force. It provided a symptom screening tool, state-specific guidance, and regularly updated public health information. Note: This app was specific to the 2020–2021 pandemic response period. Its current availability and relevance will have changed significantly since the original article was published. Check the Apple App Store and official public health sources for current tools.

For Escapist Entertainment

TikTok

TikTok’s short-form video format proved well-suited to periods of fragmented attention. The algorithm quickly surfaces content tailored to your interests — which means the experience varies dramatically from user to user. Beyond the dancing and lip-syncing that the platform is most associated with, TikTok hosts educational creators, comedians, journalists, activists, and community organizations. It’s worth exploring beyond the default feed to find content that is genuinely useful or entertaining to you. Be aware that TikTok’s data privacy practices have been subject to ongoing regulatory scrutiny in multiple countries; review current guidance if that is a concern.

A Note on This List

This article is based on a CNN list published in April 2020. App availability, features, pricing, and platform policies evolve continuously. Some apps mentioned — particularly those tied to pandemic-era initiatives — may have changed significantly. Always check the relevant app store listing or official website for the most current information before downloading.

A technical and fundamental snapshot of Digital Turbine, Inc. (NASDAQ: APPS) stock, covering RSI, MACD, analyst price targets, valuation multiples, and revenue forecasts as of late October 2019.

Note: This article is based on market data and analyst commentary originally published on October 31, 2019, sourced from findanews.com. All figures reflect conditions at that time and should not be used for current investment decisions.

APPS Stock Price Movement and Trading Volume

On October 31, 2019, Digital Turbine, Inc. (NASDAQ: APPS) was trading at approximately $7.01 per share, down $0.51 (roughly -6.77%) from its previous close of $7.52. The session recorded approximately 817,921 shares traded, below the stock’s average daily volume of around 2.18 million shares, suggesting a comparatively quieter session by volume despite the notable price decline.

With a float of approximately 73.19 million shares and a 10.75% price gain over the prior week, APPS was attracting attention from short-term traders. The one-year consensus analyst price target at the time stood at $7.17 per share, implying a modest upside of roughly 2.28% from the stock’s recent trading range of $7.45–$7.78. The range of individual analyst targets spanned from a low of $6.50 to a high of $8.00.

52-Week Range and Volatility Metrics

Digital Turbine’s 52-week high of $7.84 was reached on August 29, 2019, while its 52-week low of $1.28 was recorded on October 31, 2018—representing a decline of approximately -10.58% from that low-water mark to the session under review. The stock’s beta was reported at 1.42, indicating it was approximately 42% more volatile than the broader market. A beta above 1.0 is generally interpreted as a signal that the stock amplifies market moves in both directions, which is a key consideration for risk-aware traders.

The median analyst price target at this time was set at $7.50, slightly below the one-year high the stock had achieved in that period.

Technical Indicators: RSI and Stochastic Oscillator

Two widely followed momentum indicators offered mixed signals for APPS at the time:

Relative Strength Index (RSI): The two-week RSI reading stood at 52.78. Values between 30 and 70 are conventionally considered neutral territory, suggesting the stock was neither overbought nor oversold at that moment.

Stochastic Oscillator: The stochastic reading was reported at 82.71%. Readings above 80 are typically interpreted as indicating overbought conditions—the original article described this as “oversold,” which appears to be an error in the source material. A stochastic above 80 conventionally signals overbought, not oversold, conditions.

MACD and Chart-Based Support and Resistance Levels

At the time of writing, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) indicator for APPS showed a reading of 0.35, placing the stock in positive (green) territory. When the MACD is above the zero line, the short-term moving average is above the long-term moving average, which is interpreted as a signal of upward price momentum. Traders typically watch for crossings of the zero line as potential buy or sell signals.

Based on technical chart analysis at the time:

Upside target range: $7.72–$7.91 per share

Key support level: $7.39 per share — a break below this level was viewed as a signal of weakening market structure

Downside target (if support breaks): approximately $7.25 per share

Analyst Ratings and Coverage

Several brokerage firms had issued ratings on APPS in the months leading up to this snapshot:

Canaccord Genuity initiated coverage with a Buy rating, published June 27 (year not specified in the source, assumed 2019).

ROTH Capital upgraded APPS from Neutral to Buy in a flash note issued March 30 (assumed 2019).

ROTH Capital subsequently downgraded the stock back to Neutral from Buy in a research note dated September 26 (assumed 2019).

Across the six analysts then tracking the stock, the average rating was approximately 2.1 on a standard scale, tilting toward the bullish end. All six analysts rated APPS as either a Buy or Strong Buy; none issued a Hold or Sell recommendation at that point in time.

Valuation Multiples

At the time of publication, APPS was trading at approximately 35.81x forward 12-month consensus EPS estimates. The stock’s Price-to-Book (P/B) ratio stood at 16.8, compared to an industry average of 7.9, indicating that the market was pricing APPS at a significant premium relative to its peers on a book-value basis. The trailing P/E ratio was listed as 0, likely reflecting that the company was not yet generating positive net earnings on a trailing basis.

Revenue and Earnings Forecasts

Based on consensus estimates available in October 2019, analysts were projecting the following for Digital Turbine:

Current-quarter revenue: Projected to grow approximately 31.1% to reach $31.27 million

Full-year revenue: Expected to increase roughly 28.1%, from approximately $103.57 million to $132.67 million

Current-quarter adjusted EPS: Forecast to surge approximately 200% to $0.03 per share

Full-year EPS: Projected to climb approximately 125% to $0.18 per share

These figures reflected Wall Street expectations at a specific point in time and may differ significantly from actual reported results.

This article is a historical reconstruction of market commentary from October 31, 2019. It does not constitute financial advice. Always consult up-to-date sources and a qualified financial adviser before making investment decisions.

Learn how to configure a GitHub webhook that automatically triggers a new Source-to-Image (S2I) build on Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud every time you push to your repository.

Originally based on a tutorial from developer.ibm.com. Steps use Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud and the Node.js Application Modernization Source-to-Image (S2I) pattern.

Manually triggering container builds after every code change is a source of friction in any CI/CD pipeline. GitHub webhooks solve this by sending an HTTP POST to a target URL the moment a push event occurs in your repository. When that target is an OpenShift
BuildConfig
, a new Source-to-Image build starts automatically — no manual intervention required.

This tutorial walks through the complete workflow: deploying a Node.js application to an OpenShift cluster, wiring up a GitHub webhook, verifying the automated build, and managing the webhook configuration going forward.

What You Will Learn

Deploy a Node.js application to an OpenShift cluster using Source-to-Image (S2I).

Configure a GitHub webhook that fires on every push to the repository.

Verify that a new OpenShift build is triggered automatically.

Retrieve and modify webhook settings from the OpenShift build configuration.

Prerequisites

Before starting, make sure you have the following:

A GitHub account with write access to the repository you intend to use.

An IBM Cloud account.

A Red Hat OpenShift cluster provisioned on IBM Cloud.

Estimated time: approximately 30 minutes.

Step 1: Fork the Repository

Fork the
node-s2i-openshift
repository from
github.com/IBM/node-s2i-openshift
into your own GitHub account. Using your own fork is important because you need write permissions to the repository in order for the webhook to fire on your pushes.

Step 2: Set Up the OpenShift Project

Once your OpenShift cluster is running on IBM Cloud, open the OpenShift web console dashboard.

Click Create Project and give the project a descriptive name, for example
health-webhook
.

Click Browse Catalog and select Node.js.

Click Next, then click Advanced Options.

Enter the GitHub URL for your forked repository — for example,
https://github.com/<your-username>/node-s2i-openshift/
. You must use a repository where you have write access.

Scroll to the bottom and click Create.

After the project is created, OpenShift generates a GitHub webhook payload URL in the following format:

https://<cluster-host>:<port>/apis/build.openshift.io/v1/namespaces/health-webhook/buildconfigs/health/webhooks/<SECRET>/github

Copy this URL and note the
<SECRET>
portion — you will need both values when configuring the webhook in GitHub. Click the Overview tab and wait for the initial build to complete. Once the build finishes, a route is created and you can verify the app is accessible before proceeding.

Step 3: Set Up a Webhook in GitHub

With the OpenShift payload URL and secret in hand, configure the webhook on the GitHub side:

In your forked GitHub repository, navigate to Settings > Webhooks.

Click Add webhook.

Fill in the fields:

Payload URL: the OpenShift webhook URL copied in Step 2.

Content type:
application/json
.

Secret: the secret value from the OpenShift payload URL.

Leave the trigger set to Just the push event (the default), then click Add webhook.

From this point on, every push to the repository will send a signed HTTP POST to OpenShift, which will automatically start a new S2I build. You can confirm webhook delivery history from the GitHub Webhooks settings page — GitHub lists each delivery attempt, its HTTP response code, and the full request and response payloads.

In the example above, the first delivery was the ping event sent when the webhook was created. The second delivery corresponds to a subsequent push that included minor UI changes.

Step 4: Verify the New OpenShift Build

Return to the OpenShift web console and navigate to Builds > Builds in the left-hand menu. You should see a second build entry (
#2
) that was triggered by the webhook push. Click into the build to monitor its progress and, once it completes, follow the route URL to verify that the UI changes are live in the running application.

Step 5: Retrieve the Webhook URL from OpenShift

If you need to retrieve the webhook URL at any time after the initial setup — for example, to add it to another repository or to inspect the secret — you can find it directly in the build configuration:

In the OpenShift console, navigate to Builds > Builds and click the build name.

Click the Configuration tab.

Locate the GitHub Webhook URL field and copy the value.

Step 6: Modify the Webhook or Build Configuration

You may need to update the build configuration over time — for instance, to point at a different branch, change the source context directory, or rotate the webhook secret. To do this:

From the build detail page, click Actions > Edit.

Update the desired fields, such as the Git branch or context directory.

In the Triggers section you can view and manage the webhook secret used to authenticate incoming payloads from GitHub.

If you rotate the secret, remember to update the corresponding value in the GitHub webhook settings page to keep the two sides in sync.

Summary

You have now set up a fully automated build pipeline between GitHub and Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud. The workflow covers:

Deploying a Node.js application to OpenShift using the Source-to-Image (S2I) build strategy.

Generating and configuring a signed GitHub webhook payload URL from the OpenShift
BuildConfig
.

Verifying that each push to the GitHub repository automatically triggers a new container image build and deployment.

Locating and editing the webhook configuration from within the OpenShift console.

This pattern scales well to production workflows: combining GitHub webhooks with OpenShift S2I gives you a lightweight, low-configuration continuous delivery loop without requiring a separate CI server for basic build automation.

For further reading, refer to the official Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud documentation for details on
BuildConfig
triggers and cluster access configuration.

From grocery delivery to on-demand home cleaning, these four apps let you delegate the time-consuming chores of adult life so you can focus on what actually matters.

No one warned you that adulthood would come with an endless queue of chores: grocery runs, laundry, pet care, and home maintenance. The good news is that a growing ecosystem of on-demand service apps lets you delegate the most tedious tasks to vetted professionals—often for less than you might expect. Here are four apps worth adding to your phone.

1. Handy – Home Cleaning and Repairs

Handy connects you with background-checked professionals for home cleaning, furniture assembly, plumbing fixes, and general handyman work. You book a time slot through the app, a pro shows up, and you get your weekend back. Handy operates in dozens of cities across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, and its flat-rate pricing model means you know the cost upfront before anyone rings your doorbell.

Best for: Regular house cleaning, one-off repairs, post-move deep cleans.

2. Rover – Dog Walking and Pet Sitting

Pets deserve more than a quick pat on the head before you leave for a long workday. Rover is a marketplace that lets you search, vet, and book local dog walkers, drop-in visitors, and overnight pet sitters. Sitter profiles include reviews, photos, and rate information. GPS-tracked walk reports and in-app messaging keep you in the loop while you’re at the office.

Best for: Daily dog walks, vacation pet sitting, last-minute boarding alternatives.

3. Instacart – Grocery Delivery

Instacart partners with major grocery chains and local supermarkets to bring your shopping directly to your door. You browse store inventory inside the app, add items to a virtual cart, and choose a delivery window—sometimes as short as one hour. A personal shopper picks your order and can message you in real time if a product is unavailable so you can approve a substitute.

Best for: Weekly grocery shops, heavy or bulky item orders, avoiding peak-hour store crowds.

4. Tide Cleaners – Laundry and Dry Cleaning On Demand

Laundry is one of those chores that never truly feels finished. Tide Cleaners is a service from the detergent brand that offers wash-and-fold, dry cleaning, and garment alterations. You can schedule a pickup and drop-off through the app or use one of the brand’s 24-hour locker locations—similar in concept to a smart parcel locker—to drop off and retrieve clothes on your own schedule.

Best for: Busy professionals, delicate or dry-clean-only garments, anyone who simply refuses to fold another fitted sheet.

Note on availability: Service coverage for all four apps varies by city and region. Always check the app or website to confirm availability at your address before signing up.

Is Outsourcing Chores Worth the Cost?

The value of these services depends entirely on how you value your time. If a two-hour grocery run plus commute eats into time you could spend on high-value work, client projects, or simply recovering from a demanding week, paying a delivery or service fee can make practical sense. Most of these platforms also offer subscription tiers that reduce per-use costs for regular customers.

Start with one service that addresses your biggest time drain, track whether it genuinely frees up your schedule, and expand from there.

Source – infosecurity-magazine.com

Security teams and developers are more aligned and capable of taking a collaborative approach than many in the industry believe, according to a new study from Veracode.

The application security vendor, recently acquired by CA Technologies, polled 400 IT professionals in the UK, US and Germany to better understand the relationship between the two functions.

There’s a common perception that developers and security professionals are fundamentally at odds: the former prioritizing features and time-to-market and the latter focused on producing the most secure products possible.

However, 58% of respondents to the survey claimed they take a collaborative approach to securing applications.

What’s more, over two-fifths (43%) said they use application security during the development process, pointing out that this is more effective than retrospectively being forced to patch apps produced with vulnerabilities.

DevOps is seen as key to bringing together both teams, with nearly half of respondents (45%) claiming DevOps makes the software development team’s job easier, and just 8% saying app security slows the development process down.

As a result, almost 70% said they will increase their use of application security tools over the next 1-2 years.

However, there’s still some work to do. Integration of static (42%) and dynamic (34%) software testing and lifecycle tools into app development and DevOps processes was the most cited consideration of all related to these tools.

“Contemporary application development methodologies such as DevOps foster communication and collaboration between the application development, operations and security teams with the goal of identifying and fixing vulnerabilities as early as possible to increase efficiency and enhance security,” said Doug Cahill, senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group, which carried out the research.

“The increased adoption of DevOps combined with the eagerness to integrate and automate security testing throughout the entire software lifecycle indicates a shift towards DevSecOps, which means thinking of secure code as an element of creating quality code.”
